Shocking new video has emerged showing Texas cops restraining parents as they tried to rescue their kids on Tuesday after a gunman unleashed terror inside the elementary school, as questions grow over why it took so long to get to the shooter after the first 911 call.
Salvador Ramos, 18, arrived at the school in Uvalde at 11.30am, crashing his car into a ditch.
A school resource officer was at the scene but he failed to stop him from making his way inside.
Two other cops also rushed to the school at that time - Ramos had just shot his grandmother in the face at their home less than five miles away. She survived and called the police.
When they arrived, Ramos is said to have shot at them then ran into the school, where he barricaded himself in the fourth grade classroom and shot 19 kids and two teachers dead.
It took another 90 minutes from that point for police to declare the shooting over.
Now, sources say police were struggling to get into the classroom and needed a key to open the door.
Eventually, a border patrol agent was able to get inside and the shooting was declared over at 1.06pm.
But it questions remain over why it took police so long to get into the classroom where the kids were trapped with the gunman.
One child told KENS 5 that he was able to hide under a desk, but that a girl who yelled out 'help' when police arrived was executed.

140 cops and none of them can pick a lock?
If you weren’t there you have no idea what was happening. Why are you so quick to condemn first responders who had children of their own or knew children in that school? Do you seriously think they were just standing around for no purpose?
Odd to think that the MSM would exaggerate in this direction, and there appears to be long-running video of the event.
But I didn’t suggest that I believe any reports: I simply asked what made you so adamantly a disbeliever of these apparently video and witness-based reports.
Sounds about right.
Let’s hope that in this case they weren’t too busy coordinating it all.
Bunch of them just like every school in the South
I can unlock every perimeter door in my house, and a couple of interior doors from ANYWHERE, on my phone.
I wonder if $40 Billion would be enough to equip school doors the same way?
None of the parents had weapons? Come back with guns and go THROUGH the police. If that were my kid, I’m organizing parents and shooting my way IN if I have to.
The parents wanted to go in because the cops wouldn’t go in.
Whomever is the commander who made the call to do the perimeter response to an active shooter needs to be crucified. I say all this IF-IF this happened. With most mass shootings there are lots of news reports that turn out to be lies or they just got it wrong.
“They needed a KEY to unlock the classroom door??”
They didn’t want to scratch the paint.
Don’t doors automatically close during a fire drill/alarm? Too bad something like that couldn’t be implemented
Then the parents were negligent for not shooting their way in. Go THROUGH the cops.
Exactly. Start blasting through the police line. The cops had proven themselves cowards. If you have to kill a few of them to get to your kid, so be it.
Thank you for your posts of sanity…….cogent, calm responses!!!!
I meant to say the same thing, but got a bit knee jerk!
Thank you again!
“ If you weren’t there you have no idea what was happening. Why are you so quick to condemn first responders who had children of their own or knew children in that school? Do you seriously think they were just standing around for no …”
That I will agree with you on. Two points- I do. Or depend on ma’am for info as you stated. That’s my point in responding
Two- as I originally stated, people are thinking These school shootings are not in any way acceptable. 19 people killed. Shooter could have done that in a very short time, been shot by LE, and LE was stopping parents from getting in where they have had no purpose
Here’s what we do know from the video: Cops were not stating that.
Here’s something else:
“The shooting started around 11:32 a.m., Arredondo said. The Uvalde school district reported an active shooter on Twitter at 12:17 p.m.
U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to a law enforcement request for assistance, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said”.
Or is this one of those deals where they, the local cops, couldn't do something like that because they might get in trouble?
lol! 😀
The "Welcome / Bienvenidos" sign that was there yesterday.
They should be closed and locked regardless. That should be normal protocol - those needing in knock on the door to be let in (should be a small window in the door to be able to see out). That should be basic security protocol.
There’s officers in the videos with long guns. Sorry can’t tell what kind.
