The plan failed because doors were open, and then couldn't be unlocked. What genius designed this system?

I can unlock every perimeter door in my house, and a couple of interior doors from ANYWHERE, on my phone.

I wonder if $40 Billion would be enough to equip school doors the same way?

Don’t doors automatically close during a fire drill/alarm? Too bad something like that couldn’t be implemented
