Law enforcement from the border region are responding to an active shooter call at a Uvalde, Texas, elementary school. At least one 911 call was placed from within Robb Elementary School.
Border Patrol agents, BORTAC special response team, and Texas Highway Patrol troopers are on the scene to assist local first responders. The situation unfolded at approximately 11:50 local time when shots were initially heard in the vicinity of the elementary campus.

When the helicopter first came on the scene it did show a big blood stain on the sidewalk right outside of one of the school doors. I wonder if that was where the cops killed the gunman?

Update at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24:
The active shooter suspect at Robb Elementary in Uvalde is in police custody as of 1 p.m., according to a Facebook post from the Uvalde Police Department.
The Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office told CBS News that a teacher at the school has been shot. University Health tweeted at 1:44 p.m. that it has received two patients from the shooting, one child and an adult. The two are being evaluated. No information was provided on the condition of the two.
The Uvalde Memorial Hospital also wrote on its Facebook page that it is caring for several students in the emergency room. The hospital is asking immediate family members to report to those students on the second floor in the cafeteria. It’s also asking anyone who isn’t a family member to refrain from coming to the hospital at this time.
The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District tweeted at 2:16 p.m. that parents are encouraged to pick up their children at the civic center. The district has canceled all campus activities, events, and after-school programs.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus tweeted that SAPD has sent resources, including an EAGLE, SWAT and crime scene investigators, to the active shooter incident in Uvalde. SAPD stated the scene remains active and its resources are on standby if they are needed.
“Our hearts and prayers are with the Uvalde community,” SAPD tweeted

There’s a CBP station in Uvalde. I’m sure they have a MOU with the locals to assist with these types of situations.
