While Oklahoma is gearing up to enact the most restrictive reproductive law in the country, outlawing abortion at fertilization, one of the state’s lawmakers is proposing an entirely different way at looking at things.
And it is probably not going to go over well with men in the state.
That’s because, according to reports, state rep. Mickey Dollens floated the idea last week of legislation that would mandate vasectomies for every boy in the state once they hit puberty. Dollens said that the vasectomy would only be “reversible when they reach the point of financial and emotional stability.”
“If you think that is crazy then I think that maybe you understand how 50 percent of Oklahomans feel, as well,” the Democrat reportedly told a group of GOP lawmakers.
Oklahoma’s legislature passed the abortion ban at the point of fertilization on Thursday, and it is set to go before Gov. Kevin Stitt, who has said he will sign it into law. According to reports, that bill would define “fertilization” as the moment that the sperm meets the egg.
It would reportedly allow exceptions that include saving the life of the pregnant mother or in cases where pregnancy resulted from rape or incest.
Dollens said he is thinking of introducing his mandatory vasectomy bill next year.
How arrogant and misogynistic to assume that all women agree with him. I’m beginning to believe the left only represent about 15% of this country, although you’re led to believe it’s 70%.
This “modest proposal” has been making the rounds on leftist Twitter, so no points even for originality.
How do you enforce that?

In the meantime, they will be raised as girls.
Sounds like crazy talk but think of where we are at today and imagine going back in time to the 1970s and telling people about what their future in the 2020s would look like.
It would sound like some dystopian science fiction horror novel.
Better yet, Representative: Mandatory frontal lobotomies for all dopey Okla. legislators named Dollens, reversible of course when they reach point of mental stability.
A candidate for a mandatory cranium(ectomy), the sooner the better!

Vasectomies can be reversed. I wouldn’t take the chance. Felons out there with a known propensity for violence? No offspring.

Really amazing how once in office, there is some sort of infection these guys get, in both parties, that leads them to believe they are so much smarter, so much more caring, and have enlightened access to a level of insight reserved for only a few. Yet only in rare moments does such clarity crystallize into making up rules and regulations the rest of us should follow. Or be forced to follow.

I wonder how many democrat women will take their 12-13 year old sons in for the surgery thinking it’s a great idea.
