The first shipment of foreign-produced infant formula imported under “Operation Fly Formula” is scheduled to touch down in the U.S. on Sunday.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will be on hand to receive 132 pallets of formula produced by Switzerland’s Nestle S.A. set to arrive in Indianapolis, the White House said Saturday.
This shipment includes bottles of both Nestlé Health Science Alfamino Infant and Alfamino Junior formula, which the administration prioritized due to the “critical medical purpose” they serve.
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin ordered military aircraft to transport the shipment from Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
The administration announced Thursday that it had sourced 1.5 million bottles of formula from Nestle under the program.
The administration stood up Operation Fly Formula to streamline foreign formula imports and announced the program Wednesday along with invoking the defense production act to stem the ongoing formula shortage.
Under the program, the Health and Human Services and Agriculture departments will use Pentagon-contracted commercial aircraft to pick up overseas infant formula that meets U.S. health and safety standards.
The move lets the carriers bypass regular air-freight routes, which the White House says will speed up final delivery to store shelves.

Can’t come soon enough, foreign babies arriving by the minute.....
I sure hope they are encouraging new mothers to try breastfeeding first.
And coaching them well.
There is a learning curve for the first time that can make a difference between success and failure. From, *I guess I just can’t produce enough milk* , to *Good Lord, I could feed twins.*
Been there, done that. I almost gave up until I talked to an experienced mother of 6 and breastfeeding coach. And it was worth it.
Remember La Leche League?
They need to bring that back.
10% for the big guy, always.
Nestle is very particular about their supply chains and distribution methods.
Have to undergo a rigorous certification process and be subjected to periodic and annual audits etc...
This lady was with them.
She was a big nursing advocate at church. Lots of people rolled their eyes over it, which I did not understand. She provided a valuable service and had a lot of wisdom about raising kids.
I will bet an ice cream bar that the foreign made formula isn’t made to the same standards as US products, AND that many kids with serious problems will have a hard time adapting top a DIFFERENT formula than they are used to.
BIDEN & Co Have screwed this up to a point of no return, IMO.
...and it will be redistributed to the criminal invaders crossing our southern border.
We live in an increasingly top-down, centrally-planned and controlled economy.
You make excellent points.
Ours are 41 and 43 now and both breast fed but I don’t remember for how long. Lol
And the FDA is at fault on this one. They had the data...and still refused to issue a go ahead for the company that was shut down.
For sure.
If they manage to steal the mid-terms we’re going to see SHTF. That should be the spark.
You’ll see that has been clarified.
see posts 28 and 33 above ...
I breastfed each of mine for over a year. Not exclusively, but they were all well over a year before they got milk.
With the first one, I started her on food on their schedule, at four months.
With the second, I tried food then and he did not like it at first. So I figured that in some cultures, since they strictly nurse for up to a full year, and they are still around, that I’d go longer. Once he could put the food in his mouth himself, he was good to go. He was about 9 months at that time.
With the third, I didn’t even try solids until about 9 months. It was just so much easier to nurse and I was busy enough with the other kids.
With numbers 2 & 3, I’d take them in for their well child check up and the doctor would tell me they were doing fine on food and recommended the next step for solids. I’d just nod and smile and say “OK”.
When the youngest was old enough to feed herself is when I started her.
I figured that the appearance of teeth and the ability of them to hit their mouth with food was the best indicator of when a baby should start solids. Not at four months the medical community suggests.
We know who our friends are and our enemies. No one volunteered to step up and send us formula out of kindness for all we’ve done for them.
The rest of the world knows this was planned and aren’t falling for it.
Most assuradly most will be added to the stash the feds built on the border for the illegals after a few photo ops showing them giving some to a weeping mother getting some for her baby (who may or may not be an undocumented mother).
The Air Force does not use wooden pallets. Instead they have ‘Air Force Pallets’ which appeared to be of Aluminum construction. They were much bigger surface wide than ordinary pallets, with casters that actually moved very effectively. I have literally pulled freight from Ramstein dozens of times, if not hundreds.
I never knowingly brought freight to Ramstein for transport to the States, though it was likely done often enough by many others.
This business of appropriation of these giant cargo planes for moving baby formula is bizarre. First of all, during my entire life I have never even heard of such a shortage. The current administration clearly understands that they have potentially alienated a good segment of its base with this dumb unnecessary void in the supply.
Now what will they do with all of this stuff? Will Dover become a Distribution Center for baby food? All of this stuff has to be broken down and then redirected. Will our Military Logistics Managers be diverted to scheduling food distribution for Supermarkets?
I am sure that Nestle loves this scenario. No freight charges from cargo ship companies. No profit margin for the Air Force. This is free service for European Conglomerates who already control and manipulate world food supplies.
This White House is crazy and whenever they touch anything it turns into Sheite.
Wonder how many babies will unexpectedly get sick. I for one would not trust anything that this administration is bringing in.
You are a wise and experienced lady.
