Three cadets set to graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy who have refused the COVID-19 vaccine will not be commissioned as military officers, the academy said Saturday. The cadets will still earn their bachelors degrees, according to the academy.
Academy spokesman Dean Miller said that a fourth cadet who had refused the vaccine until about a week ago decided to get vaccinated and will graduate and become an Air Force officer.
In a statement, Miller said that while the other three will receive their degrees, "they will not be commissioned into the United States Air Force as long as they remain unvaccinated." He added that a decision on whether to require the three to reimburse the United States for education costs in lieu of service will be made by the secretary of the Air Force.

F*** the Air Farce Woke Academy.
“I don’t know if this is true, but I have heard from people in the military that the Air Force is the wokest of all the military branches.”
By far.
I did 21 years active duty Air Force followed by 20 years as a contractor spring both the Army and the Navy (and having to sit through EEO compliance training for both), as well as a whole bunch of civilian agencies.
As far as woke talk through training, both the AF and the Army were right up there. I had to sit through some trainings with the Army that would put the AF to shame. Having said that, the Army EEO training was Obama-era training so by its very nature it may have made it seem more woke than what I experienced in the AF.
But the Navy utterly shocked me...because while both the Army and AF tried to convince people it was the right thing to do, the Navy's attitude was "this is the new policy. You will not argue about it. You will not question it. You will do it. Screw your feelings." A very unwoke way of implementing very woke policies.
But all of them are equally bad as far as the policies (which come down from the DoD level).
HAVING SAID THAT, none of the military branches can hold a candle to civilian agencies of the federal government, including DHS (and this was even during the Trump Administration)
I remember being in a meeting with some fairly senior people in one agency (that will remain unnamed) shortly before Christmas. Our last meeting for the calendar year. All the govvies have their required, politically-correct 'Happy Holidays' at the end of the meeting. I said a hearty. "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to each of you!"
There were audible gasps in the room.
As the program manager for a very large contact with that agency, they couldn't believe I had the audacity to speak those words.
I was called aside by the Contacting Officer's Representative after the meeting ended and asked me...
My response: our contact says that both Christmas and New Years Day are federal holidays, right? Why would I not wish people well for those federal holidays. Should I wish a person Happy Holidays on MLK Day or Juneteenth?
Obviously, there was no response. But the year after, there were several more govvies who dared to say the name of the holiday that must not be named.
Yep. Plus around ten mandatory shots. I’m not sure why they just didn’t give them the shots without telling them like they did to me 30 years ago. We’d stand in line and the shot gun went one after the other.
Lawyer up, file a BCMR, receive back pay from the date of contention (grad date), any adjustments for promotion are computed.
If they are successful, they are comped, promoted (if in the zone) and they can complete their obliserv, stay or depart.
They’re kind of fortunate that they’re not forced out and billed for their education. And don’t think for one minute that their career at this point isn’t badly tarnished in the eyes of the AF.
If they could get out without the college billing, degree in tact, it would be a good move on their part.
Someone told me once that if Academy students were put out of the academy before the day of graduation they would only be ranked as an E5, if they were allowed to remain in service and successfully complete “A” school training. I’m sure theres a “time served” attached formula to that rank.
They chose not to go to a “A” school they would have an opportunity to remain as an E-5 bosun mate. If they were in a sea service.
I had one of these washouts assigned to my shop and after he was fully qualified, he was one of the best electricians I had.
Disclaimer...
I don’t know much about the inner workings and hidden mechanisms of ground pounders, jarheads, or zoomies... so this whole scenario is solely based on my experience with Hooligans Navy, not to be confused with the squids or Merchant Mariners.
Enjoy your coffee ☕
“Hooligans Navy” AKA Coast Guard?
Sue and win.
Much respect, little cousin Zoomies!!!
The democrats have made America a mean, nasty country full of punishment for being a good citizen.
Aye
Aye
no, not insane.
The military does not allow deciding which orders must be followed and which can be ignored.
The three were unsuited for a military career
Might work if the airlines can get over the clot shot requirement.
They could be forced to serve in the enlisted ranks.
Which will shortly reject them as well.
Military personnel are required to get the flu shot. I tried to fight it multiple times since I would always get sick with 4-5 days of receiving rhe shot. Ranged from the flu to full blown pneumonia one time. I was told that the flu shots don't make people sick, even though I was batting 1,000; and if I did happen to get suck, there was always sick sick call.
Absolute rot. Orders in the military are questioned all the time. Unlawful orders are disobeyed regularly. Some with a laugh, some with a statement to point out why it's unlawful, and some with a hard smack and a warning from the Area Defense Counsel (ADC). I saw full bird colonels get their ass handed to them for an unlawful order; including a congressional investigation.
This is nothing new. There have been lawsuits for decades for military members exposed to asbestos, fuel additives, and radiation from bomb tests, among other things.
We The People expect leadership in our military, which is exactly what these three cadets exemplify for refusing to take an experimental treatment that at best has been proven to not work, but has evidence to show that it causes death and irreparable harm to the unwilling subjects.
These three should be commissioned, put in for Commendation Medals and promoted immediately to 1st lieutenant to put them ahead of their sheep peers. They should also be given priority on the assignment list because they show great judgement and their first command, base, and AFSC would benefit from having them.
I guess that’s possible....I seem to remember something about academy dropouts having to do regular time like I did if they got too far along in their stint there..
If you do some research, you will be able to find some cases off people being abruptly discharged for not taking the (non FDA approved) anthrax vaccine back in the early 2000s.
The courts ruled that the military exceeded their authority in making them take an unapproved jab.
I suspect we will see something similar soon.
Ping.
