1:57 New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) wants to expand her state’s “assault weapons” ban in the wake of Saturday’s Buffalo shooting.
New York has some of the most stringent gun controls in the Union. Those controls include universal background checks, a “high capacity” magazine ban, a permit requirement to buy a handgun, a red flag law, gun storage requirements, “ghost gun” regulations, and a prohibition against gun possession by felons, among other gun control laws.

IIRC there’s a big 2nd Amendment case currently before SCOTUS which should be decided within the next month or so.And it even involves the City and/or the State of New York!

Ban the words “assault weapon” from the dictionary.
Ban those letters from the alphabet.
Ban anyone whose tweet, facebook, e-mail, cel phone con, etc. has any content that can be even remotely connected to ‘assault (or any) weapon’.
I don’t see anything in the list that isn’t already a law on the books in New York, other than perhaps the ‘ghost gun’ stuff.
Expand would be a ban....Could we ban Marxist/Democrats?

As I recall, the current NY law is being almost universally ignored. Maybe she just governs for the benefit of NYC.
When are these Demoncrats going to come out and say an assault weapon is any semiautomatic weapon? Oh, I know. When people are stupid enough to give them power to ban “assault” weapons without knowing what they define an “assault “ weapon to be.
What do we now about the rifle the kid used? Where did he get it?
New York’s unconstitutional restrictions on guns allowed this to happen, so now the governor wants to go further so she can kill more innocent people.
The murderer *specifically* evaluated where he would do the shooting with the idea that in NY any potential opposition he might face was limited by 10 round magazines and ineffective firearms.
Extend it to include abortion.
