Over the weekend, the New York Times’ editorial board submitted this paragraph for public consumption:
Imagine that every state were free to choose whether to allow Black people and white people to marry. Some states would permit such marriages; others probably wouldn’t. The laws would be a mishmash, and interracial couples would suffer, legally consigned to second-class status depending on where they lived.
The people who wrote these words are stupid — yes, stupid — and they should all be unsurpassingly ashamed of themselves.

There isn’t even a racial gap [according to a 2021 Gallup Poll]:
Today, the three percentage points that separate approval [of interracial marriage] among White (93%) and Non-White adults (96%) is within the poll’s margin of error.
From where, exactly, does the New York Times’ editorial board believe that the impetus would come for “some states” to ban interracial marriage? And who would send the signals from on high? Would Mitch McConnell, the husband of of Elaine Chao, who was born in Taiwan? Would Justice Clarence Thomas, the formerly segregated black man who is married to Ginni Thomas, who is white? Perhaps JD Vance and Usha Chilukuri are gearing up for the role?
Sometimes, I wonder if the editors of the New York Times have actually been to the United States. Now, I must conclude that they have not.

The New York Times editorial board wallows in delusions of extreme victim-hood. Where is that place they speak of? It's the same place Biden 'visits' when he says to black middle class people in front of him that they'd 'be in chains' if it weren't for democrats.
My guess? Biden and his 'ya'all would be in chains' and the NYTimes idiots who think Americans would stop interracial marriages - are living in 1930 - 1964 Mississippi. It's always 'Jim Crow for those addicted to pity parties and visions of themselves as heroes. Besides being looking like fools - it's also insulting to the black community.
I suggest the editorial board get out of their bubbles every now and then and speak with some of their readers. Oh, and drop about half the cross word puzzles. Most of us out here aren't English majors.

Which states, NYT?
They say interracial marriages because because virtually nobody has a problem with that. What they worry about though is same sex 'marriages'.
Why is Black capitalized?
Why is white lower case?
Is NYC still considered part of the US?
And they have Utah to the south of Las Vegas.

Imagine that every state were free to choose whether to allow people the right to carry a weapon. It would be a mish mash. You’d be fine driving along the interstate highway but as soon as you crossed into another state you’d be a felon!
