A group of radical pro-abortion activists blocked the entrance to Manhattan’s Basilica of Saint Patrick’s Old Cathedral days after a U.S. Supreme Court draft opinion leaked that signaled the Court will overturn Roe v. Wade.
Pro-Life Catholics in the community have gathered for Mass and a rosary procession to a Planned Parenthood one block away from the church nearly every month for the past 14 years to protest this nation’s abortion laws. However, the group of Catholics were met by pro-abortion activists who blocked the church doors on Saturday.

The biggest problem with NYC is that, for the most part, you can’t carry a pistol.
If you could, this would have fallen under the category of “F*** around and find out.”
I think it is a federal crime to impede access to an abortion clinic.
My parish priest actually told people to pack heat tomorrow at Mass. Some of the parishioners have taken a shooting course to defend the parish (common in this diocese) and are equipped with communications equipment.
If there are protestors, they’re be at the larger churches - especially cathedrals when bishops are the celebrants.
I think it’s great in one way: this will upset many Catholics before the midterms. Awesome!
I thought this door blocking stuff had been outlawed. Does it only apply to the pro-lifers?
I thought maybe the world had gone sane when I saw the abortionists described as "radical" until I saw it was in Breitbart. If it was in the New York Times they would be described as "enthusiasticly protesting peacefully near the cathedral".

Some things never change. This very church, Old St Patrick’s, was attacked the “Know Nothings” in 1836. The Catholics of the parish defended it with muskets.
Time to dust off the muskets, I guess.
I don’t know the legal aspects, but if someone is physically preventing you from going to church, you can deck them.

I don’t think these protestors care about abortion one way or the other. These are revolutionaries wanting to overthrow the government, like the Weathermen of the 60’s. If not antifa, they are antifa-like!
Or get the entire church to chant, "CELEBRATE LIFE" and drown them out.
Our Knights of Columbus is attending every mass. They were out in force starting today.

75 years ago the Irish Catholics of NYC would have handled this with bare knuckles no problem .
