Vladimir Putin 'will undergo cancer operation in the near future' and is set to 'hand over power to hardline ex KGB chief while he is incapacitated', insider claims

Vladimir Putin may be forced to give up control of the war in Ukraine for days as he is set for cancer surgery, a 'Kremlin insider' has claimed.

The Russian dictator will reportedly nominate hardline Security Council head and ex-FSB chief Nikolai Patrushev to take control of the invasion while he is under the knife.

Shadowy Patrushev, 70, is seen as a key architect of the war strategy so far - and the man who convinced Putin that Kyiv is awash with neo-Nazis.

General SVR reported that Putin has abdominal cancer and Parkinson's 18 months ago.

He has reportedly delayed surgery, which will now not take place before the Victory Day commemoration of Russia's World War Two victory in Red Square on May 9.

The news comes amid speculation Putin will launch an all-out war across Ukraine and order mass mobilisation of military-age men, a considerable political risk.

The surgery had been scheduled for the second half of April but was delayed, SVR claimed.

'Putin was recommended to undergo surgery, the date of which is being discussed and agreed,' the outlet stated.

““abdominal” cancer is much more complicated”

I had it. Ended up with an ostomy bag. Then adhesions from hell that kept me on the operating table for 8 hours while they cut them all out.

It all depends upon location and stage.

Excellent points.

We need to phase out Brandon similarly. Harris too.

In Brandon’s case, I think you could get several reputable MD’s to declare him unfit for the job tonight.

You are so right. Reasoning with Putler’s fanbase is pointless.

If true ...then Security Council head and ex-FSB chief 'Nikolai Patrushev' to take control ...How much control remains to be seen.....he has been Secretary of the Security Council of Russia since 2008....his sons involved in Russian oil and or Government. Safe bet part of Putins inner circle.

Brave you!

Glad you are still with us.

My dad died of that. 1950’s. Cut, cut, cut...that’s all they could do back then. No chemo, no radiation. My mom spent every day for four months by his side, at the Hospital for Special Surgery (nice euphemism) in N.Y.C.

Vlad could survive, but will be out of commission for a very long time.

He also has Parkinson’s apparently.
Possibly gout, herpes, and tardive dyskinesia...

It seems to me when leaders get ill it’s never quite what’s usually reported. At any rate appears Putin might be out of sight for a time - could be traveling for all we know.

The oily-garch boys all left Ukraine in their rear view mirror and took off to Vienna to partay.

Zelensky probably hangs out in Poland because it is much safer.

How long before the Putin fan club here on FR puts up a pray for Putin thread?

Personally, I would just prefer the sonofabitch dies.

Few hold as much influence over the president as Nikolai Patrushev..... Not only did he work with him in the old KGB he replaced him as head of its successor organisation, the FSB, from 1999 to 2008.

Putin and Patrushev have been two of a trio since the 70’s.

If the cancer is diagnosed and treated before it has spread outside the stomach, the 5-year survival rate is 70%. If the cancer has spread to surrounding tissues or organs and/or the regional lymph nodes, the 5-year survival rate is 32%.
