It’s probably worse. Real growth is nominal growth minus inflation. Since they are almost certainly understating inflation, the real shrinkage in the economy is more than stated.

And the GDP price index was up 8. Not easy to contract the non-inflation adjusted headline GDP at the same time prices are rising, but Joe pulled it off! To be a little fair, I’m sure the end of Stimmy checks made at least a slowdown inevitable at some point, but no doubt Joe made it worse.
