The woman, known as Katie Grace Jacobs (@katiegracejacobs) shared the video as a stitch to another TikToker's (@oliviachow69) advice. The latter TikToker shared a viral video advising people of color, especially women, to refuse to move for white people when walking and see how many of them move out of the way.
Jacobs decided to try it, saying she'd never noticed that many white people don't move for others. In her video, she covers her mouth, then gasps and laughs.
The TikToker walks down a sidewalk and has to navigate between other people who refused to move for her. She appears to bump into people as a result several times.
The TikToker's video went viral with about 1.3 million views as of Tuesday. Jacobs wasn't the only one who said they hadn't noticed this before.
"Never realized. (White people) be taking up majority of the block and expect u to move," one viewer commented on the video.
Other viewers shared their advice or insights from refusing to step aside for white people.
"if you have a confident walk and stare straight ahead everyone will move out of the way," one viewer suggested.
Another viewer said, "And if they bump into you just say 'excuse you.'"

Eventually, all the white people will move out of her ‘hood and she will be complaining about food deserts . . . or no place to shop except high priced bodegas run by 3rd world immigrants who have to charge those high prices to cover the shoplifting costs.

I've always noticed to opposite. If whites are in a group they are more likely to line up lengthwise when there's traffic while blacks are more likely to walk side by side and take up the whole sidewalk.

I get so sick of the gripe sessions in my city where ferals complain about no grocery stores near them. OF course, the city sponsors tax incentives to get them to move in, but business owners are not stupid.

Most rational people would sense that this woman is looking for a confrontation, would gladly get out of her way to avoid any contact with her, happily go about their business and not give her a second thought. That is the sort of behavior that really annoys her. In her mind if she is not noticed and given attention by the people she “hates”, she feels truly insignificant.
Long ago I used to walk to lunch with my boss in downtown Rochester. She had crazy eyes. I’ve seen homeless people cross the street rather than pass her on the sidewalk. I wonder if that would work in this new “game” being played. I’m not sure anyone can fake real crazy eyes though.

Except I don’t yield. I may not be tall, but it hurts to run into me, and there’s definitive satisfaction in that colorblind resistance to antisocial behavior.

Back about 1964, an elderly friend asked her “cleaning lady” if she could come on Thursday, since relatives were coming to visit.
