The Biden administration is closing off almost half of the 23-million-acre National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska (NPRA) from oil and gas drilling, overturning a Trump-era policy that would have allowed oil development on more than 80 percent of the reserve.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), part of the Department of the Interior, announced the decision on April 25.
It marks a return to an Obama administration plan to manage the area that would enable the administration to lease up to 52 percent of the reserve for oil and gas exploration.
Meanwhile, the remaining approximately 11 million acres (48 percent)—which includes the majority of lands within “special areas” and much of the coastal area of the reserve along the Beaufort Sea—will be closed off to oil and gas leasing.

He’s workin’ on it. Price some folks have to pay to save muvver erf.
How I wish it was November...and then we jump immediately to January.
Why can’t Congress be involved in these kinds of decisions? You want to close some land for drilling? Bring it up for a vote.
Oh, I forgot. We live in the age of the imperial presidency. Some regulation somewhere will give Biden the power to do what he wants, when he wants.
Voters didn’t think energy production was an issue until gas hit $5.
It’s simple. You can’t tell the Emperor he has no clothes. You have to wait for him to feel a breeze.
It’s wrong for the federal government or worse one man by edict robbing the residents of a state huge portions of their states and cutting it off from use or revenue to those citizens. It started with the national forests and then really got out of hand by leftists.

To add insult to injury it doesn’t say who they will lease to. It could be Russia or China. The liberals have got to find a way to destroy the country before this November when they will lose the power they gained through lying and cheating.

Just release more of the SPR - that’ll work. /s

Just release more of the SPR and send it to Europe - that’ll work better. /s
Indeed - we shouldn’t be using oil so we don’t want to drill for it, but we can release it and use it from the SPR...
SPR-what good is it if it’s used by one side and having nothing to do with national security?
Bureau of Land Management is under the purview of the Executive Branch. Has been since Truman, who created it.
I put solar onto my house 11 months ago because I thought energy production was an issue -- before gas went completely crazy.
I'd much rather depend completely on fossil fuel because it's more efficient and dependable than solar. But at least with solar I can do it myself without worrying about Brandon or someone else limiting my access to it. So over the past 11 months 57% of all the power I consume in my all-electric house came from solar. Because the Dims keep jacking up energy costs, my solar might pay for itself quicker than the 10th year (my calculations were based on an expected 3% inflation rate of energy).

We can only wish.
The only war he is concerned about is on America.
Right - SPR is for keeping oil flowing in the case of there being a massive supply disruption threatening the continued flow of energy - not for manipulating the prices with oil still flowing.
