I thought it meant protecting these independent, sovereign yet United States' best interests and I don't see how meddling in the affairs of other countries has helped these United States one bit. We used to meddle in Ctrl/South America. For what reasons? We meddled in the Middle East. How'd that work out for us? We "helped" Ukraine when they were gaining their independence in the 90s. We helped with their "elections"(color revolutions) Why? So it could become a slush fund for pols? Korea? Vietnam?
So which of these independent, sovereign United States full of independent, sovereign people was helped by any of the above? We get involved in these things to help pols and big business but the result is a bunch of young people getting killed in some other country that did not attack any of these independent, sovereign United States.

We promised Russia no eastward expansion of NATO and broke our promise. Even Biden warned Russia wouldn't tolerate the eastward expansion of NATO in 1997.
We armed Ukraine with offensive weapons and have funded and operated 29 biolabs with deadly pathogens in them. There is no way we'd tolerate Russia or China doing the same thing in Mexico. Nor will we or should we tolerate China setting up military bases in the Solomon Islands.
Russia went out of its way to present their security concerns to us in December. If we had simply agreed that NATO wouldn't expand into Ukraine and that the Minsk Agreement would be enforced, there would be no war.
But, your buddies in the Biden regime, specifically Victoria Nuland and Anthony Blinken, wanted this war. They wanted a regime change in Russia so they and their globalist buddies can raid Russia of money like they have been raiding Ukraine of it.

The United States might have showed support, but we do not have between 400,000 to 800,000 CIA fake protestors in Ukraine. 400,000 is the low end estimate for the number of people who took to protesting on the streets.
After his removal, Ukrainians have voted, multiple times, supporting their determination to be free of Russian control, despite Russian BS that claims Ukraine is some kind of Nazi dictatorship.
