A Florida federal judge’s decision on Monday to ban mask-wearing requirements on public transportation was appealed on Wednesday by the Biden administration without a request for an immediate stay. The ruling led many travelers on planes, trains, buses and subways to drop the precaution, some in celebratory fashion. With COVID-19 now causing far fewer hospitalizations and deaths than seen for most of the past two years, such a policy change was probably only weeks away anyway — and the sense of relief it provided to many was easy to understand.
But there are at least 8 million Americans who are immunocompromised and at risk even from the weaker variants of the virus circulating in recent months, so it is essential that there be a broad public acceptance of the millions of Americans who are certain to still wear masks while riding transit, hitting the store or going anywhere in public — even outdoors. Those who live with the immunocompromised and/or care for them should be careful as well.

You took the time to comment and had to interject your opinion without knowing anything about the subject. Other pathogens are not what we are worried about. COVID has severe effects on people with certain blood clotting disorders which is the issue we have to deal with. Perhaps you might actually consider you don’t have all the facts in a particular case before you lay out your “wisdom” on the subject.
Since the mask debate began, the leftists have been warning about the imaginary horrors of the backlash against people who want to wear a mask.
It reminds me of all the articles written in the weeks after 9/11 railing against the violent anti-muslim backlash that never came and never was coming, but was more troublesome to leftist idiots than the 3,000 dead Americans.

When you have a serious medical issue (as my wife does), and COVID is identified as a pathogen that can exacerbate that dangerous medical condition, then yes, you consult with an infectious disease specialist. I know they exist because I have to sit in a consultation with them every month. Thanks for your input, for whatever little it was worth.

Actually I did mention a medical condition in my first post. Nobody asked for specifics, they just had to comment and call me a moron anyway LOL. It’s a bit comical for people who were so eager to throw in their two cents now saying “oh I didn’t have all the facts”....why the hell would anybody comment on things or situations they don’t really know about ??

oh really...? there are in fact seen different types of coronavirii, ranging in severity from lethal (MERS) to annoying (the common cold); I take from your response that you did not mask up for your wife prior to the covid, and you explain that by citing distinctions between covid and other pathogens that in many cases do not exist...

Damn straight. I intend to mock them at every opportunity. 2 1/2 years of my life and my God-given freedoms stolen. Many of those freedoms will never be restored. I don’t care if someone wears a mask, just like I don’t care if someone has purple hair or drives a toyota corolla. I’ve got better things to worry about than what someone chooses to put on their face. Just don’t try to force me to wear one.
