FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A majority of Americans continue to support a mask requirement for people traveling on airplanes and other shared transportation, a new poll finds. A ruling by a federal judge has put the government’s transportation mask mandate on hold.
The poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds that despite opposition to that requirement that included verbal abuse and physical violence against flight attendants, 56% of Americans favor requiring people on planes, trains and public transportation to wear masks, compared with 24% opposed and 20% who say they’re neither in favor nor opposed.
Interviews for the poll were conducted Thursday to Monday, shortly before a federal judge in Florida struck down the national mask mandate on airplanes and mass transit.
The poll shows a wide partisan divide on the issue. Among Democrats, 80% favor and just 5% oppose the requirement. Among Republicans, 45% are opposed compared with 33% in favor, with 22% saying neither.
Seventy-two percent of Democrats favor requiring people attending crowded public events to wear masks, while among Republicans, 25% are in favor and 49% are opposed. The numbers are similar for requiring masks for public-facing workers.

A more accurate poll would be easy to take. Just go to LaGuardia, where masking is required, and see how many people take them off on the plane. Those are the people who have standing.

Lots of people live on highly populated blue zones like mine. If you drew a 30 mile radius around my town, the majority of idiots would support masking forever it seems.
If true, this reveals a level of insanity in America that has previously been under reported.
No way is this correct.
The tell is the Democrat pols are not screeching that if you’re not wearing a mask, “you’re killing grandma”. Their internals have to be telling them a very different story.
This is just the AP trying to give cover to their political allies.
I would be happy to duct tape every orifice of any person who would impair my breathing.
Everyone should wear a mask who wants to.

Interesting that they don’t mention that the mask mandate was illegal in the first place. The mandates were issued by EO by the president and state governors and never made into law by the legislative branches of our governments.
EO are supposed to be for emergencies and have a time limit and expire.
If you need other air passengers to wear a mask, you really need to drive instead.
Ask your doctor, he’ll agree.
A majority of American’s do not travel by Air... Is it that same majority who thinks mask should be worn?
