A transgender psychologist who has helped hundreds of teens transition has warned that it has “gone too far” — and fears many are making life-changing decisions because it’s “trendy” and pushed on social media.
Erica Anderson, 71 — who is transgender herself — told the Los Angeles Times that she is horrified that even 13-year-old kids are now getting hormone treatment without even meeting with psychologists.
“I think it’s gone too far,” said Anderson, who until recently led the US professional society at the forefront of transgender care.
“For a while, we were all happy that society was becoming more accepting and more families than ever were embracing children that were gender variant.
“Now it’s got to the point where there are kids presenting at clinics whose parents say, ‘This just doesn’t make sense,‘” she said.
Anderson is so concerned, in fact, she said she is considering ending her own pioneering work helping teens transition.
“I have these private thoughts: ‘This has gone too far. It’s going to get worse. I don’t want any part of it,’ ” she said.

Don’t you just live it when people sound the alarm, when
dozens of them are already going off?
When this was first focused on, it was already to far.
Unless she helped teens to transition back to their biological normalcy, she didn't help them.
“Transgender psychologist” is just another term for “failed psychologist”. How can it be mentally healthy to deny what you are and try to change into something you can never be?
Some years ago I heard that scientists had discovered that the human brain in a female finally syncs up (all the connections are made) when she is around 25. For males, the age when the brain fully syncs up is between 27-29.
Maybe we should think about that as being the age where a person can think about changing their sex. At least the entire brain could be put in gear to learn and think about what that change would really mean.
These doctors, to me, are worse than kavorkian who at least only destroyed people (for the most part) at the end of their lives.

Funny how absolutely nobody called themselves transgender 15 years ago. But now they’re instantly “the most marginalized and vulnerable group”.

I’m going through this right now with my 19 year old grandson, who is now dressing in drag and is seeing a psychiatrist. He wants to have the surgery and I’m praying so hard that he doesn’t go through with it. I know he will regret it in years to come but it will be too late then. He never showed any feminine inclination before. He attended a public high school and I’m sure this was encouraged in school. I’ve been sick about it.
Trans doctor? She’s no more of a doctor than Jill Biden.

Ditto, with a twenty-something nephew. I will not call him HER or SHE, and lib family members are not pleased.
Our nephew was all boy, and an Eagle Scout. I suspect some homosexual scout leader turned him out.

I think it’s similar to the mass psychosis we’ve seen with covid. Obviously not as widespread but wide enough.
Giving children opposite sex hormones and mutilating their bodies is a crime against humanity. Why can’t the left stop mutilating and murdering children?

Have his endocrine levels checked. Something could be very off, leading to the chemical imbalance that results in dysphoria.
Unlike all the trendy kids, my trans child has an incurable endocrine defect that causes hyper-masculinization and gender dysphonia. He didn’t need hormone injections to alter his body; it was happening naturally and by the time we discovered the cause (NCCAH) it was too late to stop it. It is a special level of hell that he would not wish on his worst enemy.
Less than 1% of the population has this issue.
So where are all these other trans kids coming from? Crap in our food, hormone blockers in our soaps and shampoos, social media conditioning, etc.
My husband just mentioned that I should Google gender dysphoria. I don’t know if he’s had those things checked or not. His voice is a little higher pitched but he doesn’t sound like a homosexual. I’ve heard a lot of men with voices that weren’t very deep and they were just fine.
