Mitch McConnell Donates to Liz Cheney, Joining GOP Proxy War

The ringleader of the establishment Republicans, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), announced on Thursday a donation to Democrat ally Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-WY) reelection campaign.

Cheney, who is no longer recognized as a Republican by the Wyoming GOP, has received a campaign contribution from the Senate GOP leader, McConnell told Axios. When asked if he will hold a fundraiser or other campaign event with Cheney, McConnell redirected the conversation back to his lane of Senate business.

McConnell and Cheney apparently believe the Wyoming member may lose her seat to Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman, a strong threat to the establishment Republican order in Washington, DC. With Hageman catching momentum heading into the August 16 GOP primary, former President George Bush has also donated the legal maximum amount to Cheney. McConnell and Bush are joined in their support of Cheney by failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney (R-UT). In March, Romney delivered a speech at a closed fundraiser for the embattled Cheney.

The Wyoming race has become a proxy war between the establishment and conservative Republicans. Hageman has earned the support of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). Party leaders typically rarely endorse against sitting members of Congress. But after Cheney deserted the Republican party by allying herself with Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 committee and reportedly “orchestrated unprecedented” Republican sabotage, McCarthy presumably believed Cheney must be ousted from her seat.

“Why was Ditch’s military career so short?”

I heard he never even made it out of boot camp. Heard some rumors, too. And they had nothing to do with any “medical condition.”

I’ve defended McConnell many times but I can’t defend him on this. That bitch is a traitor and her future is with MSNBC spewing the talking points they put in front of her.

Note to WY conservatives: You should be looking for a MAGA DINO to run in the ‘Rat primary.

Lincoln Project/RINO’s are just as happy playing second fiddle to majority demonrats...they get their cut.

They are Trans-Democrats. Make sure you use their correct pronouns.

isn’t this the same McConnell and gop that is angry that Trump isn’t giving them the $110 MILLION he’s raised over the last year?

“Mitch doesn’t quite grasp what is going on.”

No, don’t make that mistake. You don’t get to the level of power and influence that he has by being a bumbling fool.

Why was Ditch’s military career so short?

Your question made me curious, so I just checked...

July 9, 1967, to August 15, 1967 (37 days).

Yo, Mitch.

This Veteran happened to be in uniform during that same time. (I served 4 years for my honorable discharge, but "honor" runs in my family.)

“I told people all throughout Trump’s Presidency that McConnell wasn’t a Trump ally or conservative, yet you people kept defending him.”

You should’ve seen the FR battles I kept having in 2014 when I was trying to convince people about his duplicity.

But everybody was like “we need the seat” because everybody kept saying “we might only have a one seat majority”. Republicans won 9 seats in 2014. They were lying all along just to get their Establishment candidates nominated.

A promise to not vote for McConnell as leader is a requirement to receive my vote in this year’s senatorial election here in PA. It needs to be said out loud and multiple times and be completely believable. Otherwise, I not vote at all. I will not vote for a RINO again. It is no different than voting for a Democrat.

Kentucky has a Democrat Governor.

Retirement would be bad. He has to hang on for the next election. This would be the big danger of removing him as Minority/Majority Leader. He might resign.

I know millions of American Patriots would like to see Obama, Hillary and Biden, among others, prosecuted and jailed.

But, Mitch McConnell is just as big a crook and has enriched himself as much or more than any of them.

Time we start talking about Mitch going to prison.
