The Czech Republic has been sending old Soviet-era tanks into Ukraine, providing badly needed heavy weapons to outgunned Ukrainian troops that are battling a much better-equipped Russian invasion force.
The efforts, described by three Czech and Slovak officials, mark the first time a foreign country has provided tanks to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion began Feb. 24. In a potentially even more important development, both the Czech Republic and neighboring Slovakia, which shares a border with Ukraine, are considering opening their military industrial installations to repair and refit damaged Ukrainian military equipment.

It’s not an argument. It’s an opinion - I’m not convinced our interests in Ukraine are worth the cost many seem to be willing to risk there. That’s all.
Russia also believes that Poland is not a legitimate nation. And neither are Estonia, Lithuania, and Finland.
Russia is behaving like Russia again. The Third Rome.
In many ways this is more dangerous than the Soviet Union, in that Russian theology is that any space claimed by Holy Russia is part of the Third Rome now and forever, and any land that was part of the first two Rome’s is ALSO part of Holy Russia and must be reclaimed.
That means if they follow their stated strategic doctrine, a whole lot of Europe, Northern Africa, and North America. That is impossible, but it is guiding their foreign policy and has since Putin rose to power.
We do.
But Russia wants Alaska and much of the west coast of North America back also.
We have lost much of the southwest, and will soon have to deal with that fact. The real question is what will that look like? The Anglo establishment moaned about losing the midwest to the German/Scandinavians, and did a cultural erasing during WWI. Yet the echoes remain.
I don’t think we can do that in the southwest, but we may be able to ally with the culture. It is too late to turn it back.
“t’s not an argument. It’s an opinion - I’m not convinced our interests in Ukraine are worth the cost many seem to be willing to risk there. That’s all.”
Those costs are what$?$?
it would be helpful if you would post the archive links to WSJ articles so people can read the whole article:
just go to archive.is and past the WSJ link into the search saved snapshots box ...
“Has anyone else noticed Biden has been removed from the scene?”
I just hope Biden can finish out his term so Kamala isn’t facing off with Pukin.
Kazan is the name of a city in Russia.
Is that where you live?
The USA doesn’t really matter. Biden is nothingness. The Europeans and many others are stepping up to tighten the screws on Russia.
Putin is in serious trouble as his military fails to achieve objectives, thousands of soldiers and untold numbers of tanks and other such armor are destroyed or worse captured. As a result of captured tanks, Ukraine now has about a hundred more than at the start of the war.
Russia will experience economic depression from which there can be no recovery until reparations for the reconstruction of Ukraine are agreed.
Screw Ukraine. We have no business supporting a corrupt shithole made more corrupt by US elites.
Sorry for their people, but they voted for this mess and ignored what their own government has been doing to their own people.
Our southern border is more important any day than Ukraine is to Americans.
No place is more corrupt than Russia.
Russia is a declining power. The west needs to manage its decline.
Is it a violation of WSJ copyright to archive the article and post links to it?
I have a pet peeve about the frequent use of the word “quietly” being used in headlines. It seems to be a relatively new thing. Maybe a zillennial thing?
“Is it a violation of WSJ copyright to archive the article and post links to it?”
hell if i know ... if it was, the copyright violator would be archive.is ... clearly archive.is has a subscription to wsj, nyt and multiple other paywalled outfits that allow them to archive and provide links for ... and there’s no law (yet) in the U.S. to referencing links to places
archive.is has been doing this for years, and yet their subscriptions have not been terminated ... i suspect that what’s going on is that this is the way that paywalled sites have chosen to allow “leaking”, because a 100% paywalled site that is so sealed off and isolated from the internet might as well not even BE on the internet ...
“The “southern border” is now the Red River.”
Hope not. The US needs Texas. Texas does not need the US.
But reports I hear are that the Rio Grande Border has been over run.
I agree with everything you wrote in this thread.
Putin’s Soviet Russia needs to be stopped in Ukraine. If we don’t stand up to that prick in Ukraine then he’ll be on to something else where we’ll have no choice but to wage an all-out war for survival.
Not very quietly! This is all over the UK Daily Mail. Czechs are giving Pooty and even worse headache. How are the tanks going to get to where the Ukies can use them without the Rooskies taking them out.
We know that a priority for fake Tsar Pooty is to bomb and missile re-supply efforts.
