Washington (CNN)The US House on Friday passed legislation that would ban race-based hair discrimination in employment and against those participating in federally assisted programs, housing programs, and public accommodations.
The Democratic-led House voted 235-189 to pass the CROWN Act, which stands for "Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair." The bill seeks to protect against bias based on hair texture and protective styles, including locs, cornrows, twists, braids, Bantu knots, and Afros. "Natural Black hair is often deemed 'unprofessional' simply because it does not conform to White beauty standards," Democratic Rep. With much reluctance.
Well Nancy the Queen of Cringe is in charge
So, YOU loose your LIBERTIES..you can’t make a ‘choice’ to hire someone for your company who has a sharp look, nice shave and represents you well. YOU will be forced to hire anyone with pigtails, man buns or dredlocks..partially shaven.. Another Liberty is LOST today.
Wait for the lawsuits when they go into salons to get their hair done and they can’t do it....
Yup
Country is tanking under them, this is their focus
What about the Military ? LOL
Skyrocketing gas and out of control inflation would normally distract a congress from the truly important issues but fortunately the current generation of statesmen have their eyes on the ball!
Where be my Charlie Afro Sheen?
CROWN act? laying it on a tad thick aren’t we?
Does this protect mullets and Camero hair?
And they wonder why ordinary people hate them so much.
So the title says “natural hair” but then it goes on to describe every imagineable kind of wadded up, died up, twisted, mowed, blown, overgrown, shaggyaxx form known to man. I hope they left room for workplace safety-—try to keep the pony tail out of the machinery doncha know?
This indicates the sad state of our country when the top elected leaders engage in such drivel rather than dealing with important issues.
Nappy headed ho’s
Long overdue!
Cornrows can absolutely be banned in medical facilities or factories because it’s a safety hazard! No moreso than flowing long hair or long pony tails.
This is a BS law.
Yup. Most of the 13% of the population already look like freaks and they’re in 90% of tv commercials.
But do the curtains match the drapes?
