Russia's invasion of Ukraine appears to have ground to a halt with no significant territory captured despite a weekend of heavy fighting, with Kyiv's men claiming to have taken out dozens of helicopters and recaptured a city this morning - sparking hopes that the unlikeliest of victories may be on the cards.
Putin's men renewed their bombardments on Mariupol, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv this morning as his forces also tried to surround Kyiv in preparation for an assault, but have not significantly advanced their frontline since the city of Kherson and nuclear power plant at Zaporizhzhia were captured last week.
Meanwhile the Ukrainian armed forces claimed to have destroyed up to 30 Russian helicopters that had been moved to Chornobaivka airport, near Kherson, overnight and to have retaken the city of Chuhuiv, near Kharkiv, killing two Russian commanders - Lt. Col. Dmitry Safronov, and Lt Col. Denis Glebov - in the process.
Russia also tacitly acknowledged the loss of two other commanders - Colonel Konstantin Zizevsky and Lieutenant Colonel Denis Glebov - whose funerals were held in Russia at the weekend.
Video also emerged which appeared to show Ukrainian defence forces based in Odessa, the country's largest port, exchanging fire with ships overnight - one of which suffers a hit. Ukraine's ministry of defence has since claimed the vessel was destroyed.

US intelligence believes Russia has committed 95 per cent of the invasion force it had assembled on Ukraine's border to the fight, meaning significant reinforcements to push its attacks forward are unlikely to come soon - and could simply run into many of the same logistical problems that plagued the early assault.

There were no photos that themselves proved there were 100,000 Russian troops on that border. There were photos showing various groupings of Russian troops - none of which approached showing even 1% of that number - and you would also have to know exactly where and when the photo was taken. A photo appearing in a newspaper cannot prove that.
The funny thing about enriching uranium is that every lab has a “signature.” This signature is from neutrinos emitting from the enriched material. These little particles are measured all over the world.
The second that a new “signature” is created...researchers all over the world know. And those guys are not part of the deep state. They talk.
This is how we know Iran is not there yet. It is how we know North Korea and Israel are. We don’t need public announcements.
This is why the “secret” enrichment labs theory is a little silly.
If anything I think it’s the opposite. Russia has been very carefully taking out military assets and avoiding civilian slaughter. What there is of a Ukraine military was overrun in the first two days.
We’ve mostly been fed fiction about the Soros puppet putting up a brave fight, etc., etc., and it has been the Ukrainian side using civilians as shields.
That's actually a high price for us to pay, which I think could be used to shoe-horn the US into the negotiations and try to get a lasting peace supported by real treaties that restore some semblance of the old order in Europe.
A big bone of contention is who is going to pay for Ukraine's restoration. I would say let the EU pick up the tab along with an admission date for Ukraine.
I wouldn't rule that out.

And Ukrainian Gas Companies get their gas from ____________
Part of Putin’s terms today also include Ukraine can’t join an association of nations so I expect no NATO but it probably means no EU, too. We’ll know before March 16 since Putin needs a deal before Russia defaults on their sovereign debt.
And Putin for sure won’t agree to pay for his destruction in Ukraine.
You're assuming they have enough trained pilots?
Always has.
I think that your understanding is also quite possible. It looks like nuclear power plants will remain intact, and that is a very good thing that takes time.
I am bothered by the Biden administration’s efforts to scurry around and try to get nations like Poland into trouble, or to escalate arms getting into the area. This is where the time factor troubles me.
This is much like COVID in that we will only know what has happened when it is all over and then it is too late.
It was a coup. Their current gov is more corrupt than the illegal Biden one.
Photos posted on Telegram show Russian MRLS vehicles stuck in the mud. Another report told of low cloud cover for the next few days restricting drone use.
The weather is working for Ukraine’s side for the next few days.
Regardless of the daily reports, whatever they may be worth, a few facts remain: one is that Ukraine is a big country— about 90% the size of Texas. Russia could encircle and take a few major cities, but probably not occupy a whole country that size. Another is that Russia has very poor infrastructure, ie roads, through its own interior.. Bringing up additional troops would be a major undertaking, not like rolling down the interstate. Another is that Russia is a basically poor country, and sanctions have to complicate things even more. As others have pointed out, The Russian Army 2022 edition, in training, equipment and manpower, is far from the feared Red Army of the Cold War era. By all accounts, the Russian people have no taste for this war, and if that doesn’t matter as yet, at some point it will..
Putin said he won’t occupy. They step down. Russians go home, and Ukrainians get a government that will put them first and not be romanced by NATO. NATO should of died when Warsaw pact did. I hate this conflict and good people on both sides are suffering. It was avoidable.
Fox News said about an hour ago the Ukes were claiming they killed 10,000 Russians.
All those Kremlin fat cats who’ve made comfortable lives for themselves and their families aren’t going to let this meatball screw it up.
Putin will be ‘’retired for health reasons’’ at some point.
Poland was warning of Putin and begging for help for 20 years. Poland has also been very concerned for the Baltics and Ukraine. The Poles have been, by far, the most realistic about all this for decades. The Poles are based.
Well, their current leader let himself be romanced by NATO, and that’s not working out well.
Any I’ve talked to don’t like him, and they’re worried for their families and want him to end it. Canada has a lot of Ukrainians. So when you get past the media, everyone just wants their people to be ok. Ukrainian government pushed them right into an invasion. I don’t agree with the invasion, but a blind monkey could see it coming. That’s not the actions of a leader putting his country first.
