No, Nope, No: It Is Not Time for a Civil War: Everyone out there asking whether it's time to "use the guns" against the government needs a hard and fast answer in the negative
American Thinker ^ | 02/23/2022 | Jeremy Egerer

Posted on 02/23/2022 7:10:16 AM PST by SeekAndFind

Charlie Kirk was asked recently, at one of his lectures, whether now is a good time to "use the guns."  He answered that it isn't, and I agree with him but only partially for the reasons he stated.

Simply put, the idea that right-wingers could start a revolution and win one, at this point in history, is comedy — and no, I don't care if that's the sole reason we have a Second Amendment and we have more AR-15s.  First off, we don't own any of the institutions — including any branches of the military, which, although staffed with lots of great and respectable men, are currently run by woman-drafters, white-shamers, and tranny-loving butt-kissers

I would add to this that social and big media are owned almost entirely by the left wing, which means we have no platform to mass-communicate.  Do we run the CIA, or the FBI, or any national organization built to maintain law and order in a crisis?  No — all of it is in possession of the left wing, which gives leftists a clear advantage in organization and persecution.

More importantly, I would posit that these United States are so completely interdependent that any kind of real split, even without bloodshed, would result in mass starvation and eventually death.  This isn't the 1860s, when clothes could be homespun and farms were all family-owned.  There isn't a single business in these states that maintains its existence within a single state: everyone is dependent on other businesses in other states, and many times in other countries, to supply what he needs to function on even a basic level.

The split is catered for in the 10th amendment. Constitutionally the Federal government is very limited. The states have allowed it to become strong and they can take it back down at their pleasure.

The Thinker doesn’t think. The thesis the author puts out is that it is better to live in tyranny than fight because fighting would be hard.

This.

We should just meekly submit to the left’s “final solution” for us? In case you haven’t noticed, the left is going for all of the marbles this time.

It’s true that patriots cannot beat the military or even the police forces in a set-piece battle. However insurgencies are not fought that way. And, by the way, our military is particularly unsusessful against gurellia wars.

Correct. And that is in a low-tech area like Afghanistan.

In the US, with the availability of all sorts of tech, defeating insurgency would be simply impossible.

A nation divided will not stand.............it will be all one or all the other.

That's why we took over Canada back in 1812. The idea that two nations that were once together could exist peacefully as separate nations is just wrong.

These states are NOT UNITED. Period.

The Leftist-controlled states have almost nothing in common with the patriotic Red States. The Left would put patriots in concentration camps without the slightest remorse.

The country is now a zero sum game. The Left wins or the patriots win. There is no middle ground anymore.

Wait until they freeze YOUR bank accounts and try to starve YOUR family to death.

“War makes no sense if Democrats are about to be slaughtered in the next election.“

…because, once Republicans are back in power, THEY’LL do the right thing and fix this mess!…

Funniest thing I’ve read all day.

Then gun owners better get organized as a militia. Individual gun owners are committing suicide if they think they can win against authorities with bigger and better guns.

You don't do it that way.

In the revolutionary war, we picked off the officers, which of course the British felt was very unsportsmanlike.

You go after the nexus of powers, you do not play footsie with their pawns.

The most effective weapons against tyranny are prayer and the ballot.

So far that hasn't worked out, now has it.

Nobody in his right mind wants civil war. Millions would die, more from disease, hunger, and predatory common criminals than the battles themselves. BUT letting communists put us on cattle cars would be *worse* than all that...

You are seriously still thinking the GOP is the white horse coming to the rescue? People never learn and is why the country is almost gone.

You are construing the meaning of my words to something I never stated.

No where have I said that Democrats being slaughtered means "Republicans are savior."

If anything it means an important political defeat for those directly acting to destroy the rule of law by the law of the land.

But with a War you can make opposition illegal, like Woody Wilson did during WWI.

Or like that earlier "progressive" Lincoln did in 1861.

You didn’t use those exact words, but what else could you POSSIBLY mean by that?

They will be telling us, It isn’t “time to fight”, until armed men are forcing you onto a bus to the “relocation” center. Of course then it is far too late.

Other than Texas no States have their own power grid every pne of them is dependent on the synchronization and frequency control of the others over continental sized distances. Oregon powers much of Washington State, Arizona does a huge chunk of California. Tennessee powers most of the state’s that border it via the TVA. The examples keep going.

Water is even a bigger nightmare especially the desert southwest where the dams straddle state lines and Colorado is up stream from 30+ million in California Arizona and Nevada with the snow pack that feeds the mighty Colorado river system. The Mississippi river system is more of a nightmare it splits every state it runs through almost. The regional state to state wars over resources would make the Kosovo conflict look like a snowball fight. The death tolls from starvation and tribal style retribution plus desporate resource battles will be biblical in scale.

Its all mental masturbation anyways since no one is going to give up the house and mortgage payments , give up the truck and boat, lose their precious job, and all digital assets held in computers by banks scattered around the several states. ALL of those things would be lost day one of any real battlefield. You would be starting from scratch assuming you survive the conflict, mass starvation and the scorched earth that followed it. A lifetime of assets would evaporate in days , “the wife” if she is still alive by the end and not taken by a regional warlord would be very upset to say the least. No it’s delusional fantasy to think a 1776 or even a 1865 type battle could be fought by modern people with modern weapons. Remember they did say F15s and nuclear weapons that was not hyperbole one side has them and certainly will use modern massed weapons on the other bank on it than includes tactical nukes the rest of the world with nukes would cheer them on there is no danger of Russia or China stepping in if nukes fly here take that to the bank.
