Levi's on its brand president Jennifer Sey: She 'resigned from the company'
yahoo ^ | 02/16/2022

Levi's said it didn't force out brand president Jennifer Sey amid the executive's outspokenness on COVID-19 related school closures in California.

"Today, Levi Strauss & Co. announced management changes affecting our executive leadership team. Seth Ellison, executive vice president and chief commercial officer will assume responsibility as the Levi’s brand president on an interim basis in addition to his commercial duties, replacing Jen Sey, who resigned from the company. LS&Co. has initiated a search for a new Levi’s® brand president, an opportunity to lead one of the world’s best known and most respected consumer brands," a Levi's spokesperson told Yahoo Finance in an email.

Yahoo Finance also asked Levi's if it has a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

"Since the start of the pandemic, our priority has always been the health and well-being of our employees and our customers, and one of our principles has been that we will follow all local laws and ordinances. We strongly encourage employees to receive COVID vaccinations. For our San Francisco corporate offices people are coming to do essential work, and we return to hybrid work later this month," the spokesperson added.

Wholeness trumps profit these days.

Look at the insane business decisions like Gillette insulting men with a razor commercial. Was anyone fired over that? No. They likely were handed awards.

She’s toast un less she starts her own business.

What do you think happened to all the other people who have been canceled? Unhirable.

Agreed. I stopped buying Levi’s back when they embraced the radical homosexual movement several decades ago.

I don’t wear much denim, but there are lots of better choices than Levi Strauss.

[The founders of Levi’s must be rolling in their graves. Disgusting what has become of that once great working man brand.]

Their jeans are garbage!

I have $20 Wranglers from Walmart that are going on two years with minimal wear/tear.

From a thread on her Twitter feed:

Up until Feb '20 if asked about my politics I would have said left of left of center. But as I've watched "progressive" leaders destroy public education, deny kids access to public life, ruin small businesses, demonize a segment of the population to divide us...

...and degrade the public discourse, I don't know where I fit anymore. I didn't leave the party, it left me.

I upended my entire life (30 yrs in SF) so my kids could go to school & experience a normal childhood existence. In Co, they attend school, play freely...

...participate in sports, hug friends and even teachers (they are young). They are not required to think of themselves as filthy vectors of disease. They participate in public life, go to the playground unmasked, and are relatively carefree, the way 4 & 6 yr olds should be...

Adults protect them, their childhood, not the other way around.

In SF, another year of school is threatened (3rd school year). Poor kids suffer the most. Inequality deepens. Children are stigmatized.

My heart still resides in this city that I fell in love with in 1992...

But the spirit of inclusion, fearlessness and acceptance of difference from the norm is gone. Any deviation from the orthodoxy, the mainstream narrative, is demonized.

You are cancelled...

It is not fun to speak up and stand out. I don't come by it naturally. I like to be liked. But I like kids more. Kids need to be supported not demonized. Misopedia is rampant.

I will give up my standing, I will accept being called strange and dangerous and stupid...

I refuse to stand by and be silent while yet another year is stolen from kids - those who have the most to lose. I'd ask you to join me. There are many silent people out there who find this encroachment on basic liberty, on our kids' lives, unacceptable also...

People who are more afraid of the impact of continued restrictions on kids & ourselves than they are of Covid. We need you to stand with us publicly. Vocally.

The water is not that warm, it's cold in here. But it gets warmer w/ numbers & you get used to it...

You get used to saying no, to asking why, to saying no not my kid. Not OUR kids.

There is more to life than fear. All areas of our lives cannot revolve around disease avoidance. I want joy & connection, friends & art & celebrations. Not the constant threat of never ending...

...restrictions. A political party that constantly terrorizes the populace & encourages disavowal of each other - I can't sign up.

So I'm a woman w/out a party. But that's ok. I've got y'all. Former lefties, currently homeless, growing in numbers, not going away.

We got this.

She is a heavy-hitter in the C-Suite world and CEO material—her numbers at Levi’s are impressive.

It isn't hard to be impressive when EVERYBODY buys your brand.

She supported every liberal cause except one, getting schools open. They destroyed her for that failure of groupthink.

She is a leftist.
She has never repudiated all her beliefs.

You admiring her “ principles” is disgusting and evil.

I wore levies years (actually decades) ago. At one time they were the best out there. We used to put on a new pair, sit in the tub, and let them dry while you wore them. That was long before they used stretch fabric and they lasted so long you never threw them away.

They are pretty much crap today.

Their Rustler brand, made by Wrangler, is cheaper and lasts almost as long. I buy a couple of pairs about once a year.

Here is another brand to consider:

https://www.baileysonline.com/wild-ass-double-front-denim-logger-pants.html

These are like Levi’s used to be 50 years ago. Shrink to fit.
Heavy cotton denim cloth.

Bailey’s carriers another brand called Prison Blues made by inmates in an Oregon Penitentiary. I do not believe they are as heavy cloth.

I have Levi’s and Wranglers. The Wranglers are MUCH better construction than the Levi’s.

Levi’s used to be indestructible, now the denim is light weight garbage. Last pair I bought this winter ripped out the butt brand new. Have pairs that I work in that are at least 10 years old that are still good.

They can sell them to China for all I care, but they lost me as a customer.
