White House says Homeland Security chief urged Ottawa to use its powers to quash this blockade
U.S officials have offered help the Trudeau government end an anti-vaccine mandate protest that is sending ripple effects through the American economy and causing increasing concern in Washington.
The White House says U.S officials had multiple conversations on Thursday with their Canadian counterparts about the blockade on the Ambassador Bridge, a major trade artery which connects Windsor, Ont. with Detroit.
The White House said Thursday the U.S. federal cabinet and senior administration staff are now seized with the issue.
"(They) have been engaged around the clock to bring this to a swift end," the White House said in response to questions from CBC News.
The administration of U.S President Joe Biden said Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas urged his Canadian counterparts Thursday to use their own federal powers to end the blockade at the Canada-U.S. border.
Mayorkas also reportedly offered the help of his department to end the impasse.
The White House did not elaborate on the offer of help. Mayorkas's department handles multiple agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Those officers are posted at border checkpoints, including the Ambassador Bridge--the busiest crossing between the two countries and a vital trade link...

President Biden says the prospect of patriots taking on a future tyrannical government in the U.S. would be grim unless they procured “F-15s and nuclear weapons.”
The Democrat roiled viewers on Tuesday while making the comments in conjunction with his calls for more stringent gun control.
“Those who say the blood of patriots, you know, and all the stuff about how we’re gonna have to move against the government — well, the tree of liberty has not been watered with the blood of patriots,” Mr. Biden said. “What’s happened is that there have never been — if you want to, think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.”

Today he half capitulated. There simply needs to be a non confidence vote in Parliament so we can have dissolution of the Liberal /NDP coalition and a new election.
But I thinkhe is waiting for things to get bad enough so he can invoke the National Emergency Act whichi suspends habeous corpus and puts the while country under military rule. Same as the US Insurrection Act.The Trudeau can arrest all of his political enemies and throw them in jail.
It all depends on party defections. the HDP ;eader is feeling the heat. Jagmeet Singh is a Sihk, and the NDO advertisies itself as a workers party. Jag was flip flopping yesterday, he wa s aga8nst the COnvoy, later in the day he was for it. Today he i s running around Trudeau like a ramora around a shark.
So the more flip flopping we see,the more likely it will happen.The country has a hate on for Trudeau.We will have to see how that translates in Parliament.
The leader of the Conservative Party (O’Toole} was fporced to resign by caucus vote last week.because he would not support the Freedom Convoy.
