Now a team of US experts have moved one step closer to providing an alternate way for vaccines to delivered, through a digestible pill.
The team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed a tablet the size of a blueberry they say can deliver mRNA, the tech used by Pfizer and Moderna in their Covid jabs.
Previously, mRNA-based medicines could not be administered orally because of the acidic nature of the human digestive system, which can damage them too much to work effectively.
But it is hoped the new pill could offload its contents directly into the lining of the stomach, bypassing the rest of the digestive system.
The research team now plans to test if the pill can be used to generate an immune response similar to that of the Covid jabs.

Remember fifty six years ago when a new injection system was designed without needles? It used pressure to blow the vaccine through the skin.
I got hit with it in the military. It felt like someone punched you in the arm really hard. You had to be still or it would rip the skin. I saw a Airman ahead of me with blood running down the arm from it.
I believe they did away with it and found it worked better as an airless paint spray gun.
Medical Russian Roulette will be less uncomfortable.

This is diabolical! What’s to keep it from being mixed in with a person’s food unknowingly. This would allow surreptitious vax of anyone whose food supply was aaccessible including restaurant and grocery store food.

This story purports that the delivery mechanism will deliver to the lining of the stomach. Sure. Some of it is going to skate right past the stomach into the small intestine. Leaky gut is going to allow those particles access to the blood stream. Next stop...anywhere that receives blood.
Anyone who goes to see a doctor has routine blood draws, and occasionally shots for tetanus, shingles, and other things. Also, dental work is almost always accompanied by an injection. It’s not the needle that people are wary of, it’s what’s in the vaccine.
I can just hear the late-night Joe Namath commercials: “Now with TWICE your daily allowance of mRNA! Call the number on your screen now! I guarantee it!”
Already happening. My wife periodically does a "super donation". It's a double donation where they capture the RBCs and return the plasma. The questionnaire ahead of the donation asks questions including whether you have had a COVID-19 vaxx.
It is now 12 days since my wife had a sore throat and left work early in case it was COVID. Two days later, she went for a test and was positive. I had a sore throat at the same time. The symptoms have subsided and a rapid antigen test shows negative for both of us now. The next question is whether she will be an acceptable donor in the future.
