A coronavirus 'super-vaccine' that will be effective against all future strains of the virus begins tests in humans

A 'super-vaccine' that would work against all existing and future coronaviruses is taking another step in its trial process, being tested in humans now. The proposed jab would not only be effective against Covid, and all of its variants, but also other types of the virus like SARS-CoV and other potential mutations of the coronaviruses that could emerge as well. Earlier this month, the World Health Organization's Technical Advisory Group on COVID-19 Vaccine Composition (TAG-CO-VAC) released a report saying the frequent vaccine development and rollout is not a 'sustainable' way to handle the virus going forward.

These greedy Bastards have tapped into a major taxpayer MONEY FLOW and are NOT going to give it up any time soon.

They'll be inventing vaccinations against everything from the common cold to climate change just to keep that money rolling in from the government.

Not even a tiny chance that this would work.

“serious development”

I’m sure it is that doesn’t mean it’ll work because they are fundamentally putting forth a perpetual motion machine claim.

There is no way to account for all mutations for all time.

The spike is only part of the virus. The capsid mutates too.

Saying it works for all future variants is just marketing (and I claim it’s plausible deniability) sort of like that “unsinkable” Titanic.

Forgot to add - when they tested it on animals, what future variants did they test it against - all future variants or a subset of them?

See what I mean?

Not a bad business proposition

The last year has certainly proven that people appear to be willing to risk their lives to avoid a bad cold!

The mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) were designed to target not the whole capsid, not the whole spike protein, but just the receptor binding domain of the spike protein.

They knew that in the past, whole coronavirus vaccines had triggered fatal reactions in lab animals, so there were some epitopes that were critical to avoid in the vaccines. Rather than try to figure out what they all might be, they focused on the smallest subset, of things that made COVID dangerous (itโ€™s ability to bind strongly with ACE2 receptors). The thinking was that variants different enough to avoid the immune response, would also be inherently less dangerous (true with Omicron). Although guided by that theory, it was kind of just trial and error, in terms of safety.

This new vaccine from the Army however, was designed from the ground up, to select the optimum set of epitopes to target. It identified more features of coronaviruses which were essential and enduring, across the many varieties, and excluded those that caused side effects. Each feature was evaluated and scored, and different combinations were modeled and scored, until the had a combination that scored highest on broad effectiveness against possible variations, and safety. The trial and error was done computationally rather than in the lab, until they had identified a (the) most promising combination.

People have been working on that analysis since the SARS and MERS epidemics. It is pretty far along now, and seems to testing out good so far, in practice.

Omicron last months bug, its little brother is taking over spreading fast with 1.5x the R0 with Omi already 10x at these rates of R0 the whole world should have it in two months all 7 billion. Time to let it ripe can wipe out some boomers but at least the younger generations will have some immunity for a short period which if enough get immunity fast enough the replication chain is broken and the pandemic ceases it goes endemic at that point coming back as a seasonal illnesses which kills older peeps like flu does every year a few hundred thousand here and there but hey their boomers no one likes them anymore.

Tell that to all the dead boomers this bug has killed yes even the fat ones. Which in America is 60%+ if the slobs who inhabit it are clinically obese. I’m sure their families would love to debate how well your natural immunity works. you have to catch the bug and then survive it for natural immunity to then give you a chance to NOT GET THE BUG AGAIN and die from it. A properly designed vaccine PREVENTS you from ever getting the bug in the first place or decreases the severity of illness to non life threatening levels.

If you too stupid to understand those key differences then the scientists of the world hope you do have a face to face meeting with the bug and it wins thus removing the defective genes from our gene pool.

The smallpox vaccine was only 95% effective 5% of people who got it and were exposed to small pox still got a full case of smallpox the key difference was of those 5% who still got smallpox few died. The rate of unvaccinated smallpox death was north of 30% know the difference. God people on the internet are Fin morons.

Spot on analysis but you are wasting you time with zealots which the antivaxers have become just like climate zealots if it’s a vaccine its from “big pharma” and a plot to kill X number of humans for some insert crazy Qanon or tinfoilfkery here. Actual science is lost on people who clearly lack the demonstrable or measurable IQ to comprehend it. Funny thing every one of my fellow MENSA member’s are vaccinated we talked about it at our last two meetings. You won’t find a group of people with multiple PhDs in the same room anywhere outside a medical or science conclave.
