While a growing number of Los Angeles-bound cargo ships are now biding time off the coast of Mexico, the supply chain crisis progressed this week as consumers found empty shelves in stores across the U.S.
“There’s a big population [of ships off the coast of Mexico],” Kip Louttit, director of the Marine Exchange, told The Epoch Times. “If you look at the Pacific, it kind of makes sense to go down there. The weather is better the further south you go.”
The number of ships waiting to deliver goods in Los Angeles has jumped about 12 percent since October, when President Joe Biden announced the ports would be opened around-the-clock to ease congestion.
The marine exchange reported 190 ships of all types were waiting in line to dock at the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports on Jan. 19. In mid-October, the number was about 170.
It also takes about two months longer to deliver goods from Asia to the Pacific Coast now than in 2019, before the pandemic, according to Flexport, a San Francisco-based freight-forwarding company.
In early January, Flexport found that westbound shipments from Asia took an average of 110 days—a 65-day increase and a new record high.

Joe fixed that. He brought labor and transportation experts together and solved that problem. He said so at his press cockolds party on Thursday.

Ummm...where’s the Secretary of Transportation? You know, the one who was promised a high position in the Federal gov’t if he would drop out of the 2020 Presidential race, regardless of his lack of experience.
Anybody seen the Transportation Czar, Pete Le Butte?

Everything appears to be right on schedule to hinder and damage the economy as much as possible. The powers to be, behind this scheme should be pleased.
Next planting season might be interesting.
The corn and soybean farmers I know are saying that they cant get fertilizer. If they do find it, its so high its impossible to purchase. Herbicide is another one they cant find.
Reduce corn and soybean production and see what will happen.
We (us old timers) have all been talking at the local watering hole. Most of the snowbird farmers are gonna go back and try and salvage what they can for their kids who own and operate the farms. back to the old ways.
Good you say? Well that is nice except, the yields will be drastically lower. WAY LOWER.
We can rely on wheat and other grains? Well they require fertilizers also.
Still figuring out how to chest-feed.
Well if you check the web site for the Port of LA their purpose is to keep the water clean, not really unload and load ships. And these ports are owned by the cities. LA is LA LA land. Don’t expect these idiots to be able to actually understand and participate in commerce.
I’m in Mexico for the winter. There are no empty shelves where I am on the Pacific coast.
If the USA was self sufficient in everything we wouldn't need one port or one cargo ship.
Have we allowed enough Ethiopian pirates to immigrate here to be able to do that uet?
