Why Was Texas-Synagogue Jihadist Akram Allowed to Enter U.S.?
NRO ^ | Jan 18, 2022 | Andrew C Mccarthy

When it comes to Western governments and jihadism, willful blindness is never fully cured.

While critical of the FBI in a column yesterday, I argued that we should cut the bureau some slack. Its Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) had performed bravely in bringing the Texas synagogue hostage crisis to a successful conclusion. The hostages escaped unharmed. The lone fatality was of Malik Faisal Akram, the British jihadist who had created the lethal risk and who’d been shot under circumstances that suggested his capture alive was unlikely.

Americans, particularly Jewish Americans, were justifiably nettled by agent Matthew DeSarno, who heads the FBI’s Dallas field office and who ridiculously claimed that Akram’s plot was “not specifically related..

I think it was to make Governor Abbott look bad, since he’ll be unbeatable in November (only chance for a Democrat to be governor is to knock out Abbott in the Primary).

The timing here is very suspicious...less than a month until early voting.

The Slo Joe administration had to prove how inclusive it was as opposed to the previous regime.

This should have been an easy one too. He was known to UK authorities. How on earth did he get a gun?

The real question is, how many more are being let in? I’d think it’d have to be part of some systemic issue...e.g. they’re allowing them in deliberately. This guy must have known he’d be let in, otherwise it’s hard to imagine him bothering in the first place.

Huffines is the only candidate who is actually campaigning for Governor. The others, Abbott and Pendejo ‘Rourke, seem to be coasting.

“We have have 2 strong conservatives primarily him. West and Huffines.”

Agree, that’s why they want one of them to win, hopefully West - as West will do about as well as any other black conservative running for office...which is not very well. At a minimum, it will be a toss-up with West.

“How on earth did he get a gun?”

He went to Texas. There are many States where you can buy a gun from private parties without background checks.

The FBI keeps getting worse every time.

“He went to Texas. There are many States where you can buy a gun from private parties without background checks.”

It’s not as easy as it sounds, as the seller still can get in trouble if he didn’t take some care to verify the buyer was allowed to own a gun. For example, if the guy shows up playing Wrap Music, and you still sell the gun to him, then, obviously, you sold it to a felon, and you’re at huge legal risk.

Likewise for this guy, who obviously didn’t look like a responsible person, you know, like an Oath Keeper.

That’s why I think he was supplied with a gun by the same people who cleared his entry into the US.

Just What the Hell?

Did the wannabe jihadi ever commit a crime?
Was there evidence to charge him with conspiracy?
There has to a ‘due process’ before they can arrest him or exclude him. This goes for “known wolves,” etc. A bad attitude and murderous theology isn’t enough - they gotta commit a crime first, or plot to commit one.

And can you imagine what the Feds would be doing to us if such things were not required? The Jan 06 political prisoners would think they got off lightly compared to what the Feds would be up to against us.

Yep. If anything ever jumped off in my Church I suspect it would be like a shootin’ gallery.

Doubt it ever would however.....we always have a fairly substantial police presence on the grounds during services.

Most crimes with guns are gained illegally. That’s how it works. Law abiding gun owners are peaceful, and lawful to a fault.
