In the 1980s shock jock Howard Stern became the self-declared "King of All Media," but in recent years his relevance has been on the decline. The same can't be said for Joe Rogan. His podcast is now considered more important to up and coming comics than The Tonight Show was even in the era of Johnny Carson.
And even as he courts controversy Rogan shows no signs of backing down.

Just this week, a group of 270 medical experts called on Spotify to cancel the top-rated "The Joe Rogan Experience."...In particular the group of medical professionals called out a December 31, 2021 episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, which featured guest Dr. Robert Malone...Yet, even as some in the medical community may have called out Rogan, his power is certainly felt on social media as many users quickly came to his defense.
"The more our media tries to get us to hate Joe Rogan, the more I love the guy," wrote YouTube Channel and Twitch host Gary Sheffield Jr. (@GarysheffieldJr).

Rogan, a comedian and UFC color commentator, launched the podcast in December 2009. Since December 2020 it has been available exclusively on Spotify, while highlights are also uploaded to YouTube. In January 2019, the podcast won Best Comedy Podcast at the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards, and last year it remained the most popular podcast in the United States.
The power of his brand was also on display earlier this month after he very publicly signed up for the Twitter rival Gettr, which was created by former Trump aid Jason Miller. The platform had launched last July, but after Rogan joined up the service reportedly saw a massive influx of users.

Watching
I don’t watch any of them
That’s the fake news media getting slaughtered right there.
Rogan’s very successful podcast breaks all the rules of the conventional MSM shows.
* Rogan interviews people and lets them talk without interruption.
* His shows are typically 3 hours long providing plenty of time for an in-depth interview.
* Rogan is a person who is interested in learning, even from people he might disagree with. He’s enthusiastic about it. He’s intellectually curious.
* rogan’s style is enthusiastic, but never confrontational. He’s always respectful of his guests.
I read where Rogan said if Michelle Obama ran for president in 2024, she’d win. He also made the comment that Obama was the best president of his lifetime.
If Rogan really, truly believes Barry Obama was the best president (and not punking) was the best president of his lifetime, it pretty much puts into question anything he has to say from that point forward. At least in my mind.
Any of y’all here/read the same?
Your 4 point bullets are all correct.
How long till Spotify dumps him?

No sound biting. No gotcha moments. Very little cross talk. No ideology from the host. Plenty of time to talk through ideas. Intellectual curiosity from the host and others. Humor.
Rogan’s show is unique. They have actual conversations worth listening to.
Ever notice how all the “bad-ass” white dudes with shaved heads and five o’clock shadows and gym-rat deltoids all have the cutest little ears? WTH is up with that? Natural selection?
Rogan’s interview with Dr. Robert Malone from 12/31 is must-watch stuff regarding Covid on multiple levels.

I don’t waste my time with him.
“I really believe that if Michelle Obama runs, she wins,” Rogan said on his podcast to comedian Tim Dilllon “She’s intelligent, she’s articulate, she’s the wife of the best president that we have had in our lifetime in terms of like a representative of intelligent, articulate people.” The only thing that would stop her [Michelle Obama] is if she bought into some of these policies that are destroying businesses in America that make people scared,” he added.
In the interview, Rogan said that he predicts that Vice President Kamala Harris would be Obama’s running mate in a presidential election. “They’re going to bring Harris. Michelle Obama and Harris. Harris comes back as the vice president. Michelle Obama’s the president. We get a double dose of diversity,” Rogan said.
“They’ll win,” Dillon said. “And who’s on the Republican side? DeSantis?”
“Trump and DeSantis,” Rogan responded. “They have to make a super team. It’s the only way they win.”
Let's be clear: Rogan isn't Limbaugh. Rogan is a libertarian with leftish leanings. At the same time, Limbaugh wasn't Rogan - he appealed to an older, aging audience across 650 AM radio channels.
That said, Rogan is way more effective at driving the public narrative, scaring the Powers That Be, and conducting an interview.
In terms of effective, cogent, public speakers who are aligned with the dissemination of content that Statists Want To Ban, Rogan is second to none.
Geeze I hope not. Really people, he’s a failed comedian. Why is the right so addicted to failed comedy acts? First it was Glenn Beck now this guy. Is it because they’re so bad at being funny you don’t realize they’re kidding?
I don’t know if that’s true or not, even if it is, it does not diminish the guests he has on and the topics they talk about.
Dr. Robert Malone is latest example, you will not find another podcast that has Malone as a guest and talk for over 3 hours with no topic off limits.
As the article states, he allows his guests to talk and is respectful to them, which is rare in the news today.
Judging by his ratings, the public appears to like him.
Yes, I was actually watching the podcast when he made those comments about the Obama’s.
It surprised both me and my wife.
Only, because he seems to be such a Libertarian at heart.
Unfortunately, he is probably correct about Michelle Obama. However, we don’t have much to worry about when it comes to her chance of actually running. IMHO, Michelle is lazy.
Did not enjoy being in the spotlight and enjoys her current life.
I mean why would she want to?
She has three houses, gets paid for doing nothing other than making appearances on talk shows. She has a great life right now.
Plus, she never seemed like she liked all the attention of the White House.
If you mean failed as in he’s not performing anymore, that’s not true, he performs in comedy shows all the time and has a comedy club in Austin, TX.
If he has truly failed maybe it’s because his podcast has made him insanely rich with ratings 3x times more than anything else on Cable TV. If that’s failing the count me in.
No I mean failed in that he’s not funny. His primary bit before he found this gig was complaining about comedians stealing other comedians’ material. But he never managed to accuse anybody of stealing his material. Which says all you need to know.
