‘With multiple investigations already underway, I do not support the politically motivated January 6 Commission led by Sen. Schumer and Speaker Pelosi’

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued the following statement in opposition to the Senate commission investigating the January 6 terrorist attack on the Capitol:

"The January 6 terrorist attack on the Capitol was a dark moment in our nation's history, and I fully support the ongoing law enforcement investigations into anyone involved. Everyone who attacked the Capitol must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and brought to justice. I also support the Senate committees of jurisdiction who are exercising their proper oversight roles to provide an in-depth and complete account of the attack. With multiple investigations already underway, I do not support the politically motivated January 6 Commission led by Sen. Schumer and Speaker Pelosi."

Our own?

I’m sorry, Ted is part of the 90% of useless republicans.

They all need to go.

A new party would have been a better idea.

How about the liberals who have actually assaulted members of congress over the years, threatened them and entered offices? Code Pink? PETA? Other whackjobs? Where were the arrests? You calling for those, Teddy?

How about the lefties throwing molotov cocktails all last summer? You demanding those be arrested too?

S*** me, camera hound.

Agreed- that is where he began losing me almost a year ago. Infzct I lost a,lot,of respect for most so called Republicans who, have sat idly by while Americans are being grosly denied their rights for political reasons.

Cruz znd all Republicans should be absolutely screaming about the judge’s remarks that she would, not let innocent folks put on bail because they wouldn’t denounce Trump. They should NOT how we operate judicially in this country at all! That’s as bad as forcing someone to now down and obey in order to take a mark that Will allow them to shop and sell. And yet most Republicans sat by fir a year now and said nothing.

Communism is taking over our country, and the rinos are just a-ok with it all

“ The usual suspects engaged in the usual blood lust stabbing frenzy of someone who VOTES our way 100% of the time.”

—————————————————————————

Is Ted Cruz the only republican Texas can offer? Is he so special and rare that Texas can’t find an honest (real) republican to primary Cruz? Is Ted Cruz the only possible politician in RED Texas that will vote conservative 100% of the time? ……..and you still want Cruz the snake?

Flawed defeatist logic on your part. And it is folks that share this view that has allowed the Graham’s, McConnell’s, Thune’s, McCarthy’s, Ryan’s, Bush’s, etc etc etc to be re-elected term after term while NOT representing our vote. Cruz isn’t the problem……the voters are for constantly settling for anything and demanding nothing. If he can’t fight for those he represents, he is a democrat…PERIOD!

Note: I could list hundreds of failures from Cruz but many here have pointed out enough to make the point.

Really? There are multiple threads on here about his position on the vaccine being one of the greatest thing humans ever did.

He’s consistently wrong on this, but he is consistent.

Ted has self-destructed, same as Marco Rubio before him.

We lambaste the RINOs but they wouldn’t be the influencers they are without the consent of the rank and file in the Republican Party. THEY put them in leadership positions and largely go along with their destructive nonsense.

The GOP talks conservative — right before elections — and then goes right back to supporting the Swamp the moment its over. Its the same old thing, cycle after cycle.

The GOP as a whole is weak, corrupt and devoid of principles IMO. I have zero confidence in the GOP to ever put real leaders in place or to ever meaningfully reform the party.

Antifa is known for its terrorist activities. Yet the consensus on FR is that Jan. 6 was an antifa false flag operation yet somehow also not terrorism. That makes no sense.

Those who assaulted Capitol Police officers are terrorists and should be treated as such. No sympathy here, no matter how much they cry and play the victim.

Of Cruz's character I shall remain silent, but I will state that this was a colossal error for an ostensibly intelligent politician to make at a particularly sensitive time. Cruz has lost the pulse of both his party and the country at large, because the public isn't buying this as a Major Threat To Our Democracy. There is another thread concerning what they do believe. This is a very polarized issue and Ted is trying to straddle a fence over nothing. Middle ground here not only won't get him votes, it will get him rightfully disdained - there just isn't much there there.

This issue is, in fact, a massive political swindle even greater than the Russian Dossier sham and Cruz is apparently buying it hook and line, hoping that if he spits the sinker out he'll look like a moderate. It doesn't work like that.

It is one that he has wedded himself to for a year now

He sure did. A couple minutes ago Bongino played the clip, and it’s the first time I’d heard it. Tucker interrupted him and called him on it. Good for him.

Everyone knows that someone that smart wouldn’t make such a dumb mistake in his wordsmithing.

His explanation tweet blames us for misinterpreting what he said.

That’s kind of hilarious — digging that hole he’s in even deeper. His verbiage was clear as a bell.

Anyhow, it’s over. He’s hurt himself more, and is well on his way to being insignificant.

I think we dodged a bullet when there was talk of him being on SCOTUS; his principles aren’t stable. HE isn’t stable. I fear he’d have been another John Roberts.
