The 2024 presidential election may still be three years away, but Republicans have already begun to jockey for their places in the primary.
Former President Trump’s repeated hints that he could mount another bid for the White House remains perhaps the biggest obstacle for other would-be contenders.
While none have spoken definitively about their plans for 2024, many potential candidates have already started networking with GOP leaders and donors in key states while testing out campaign messages in public appearances.

If Trump runs the Nomination is his. If he doesn’t run, my bets would all be on DeSantis.
Perfect
First off, christie is a joke in any language except his.
I know who is running for VP: Marsha Blackburn, TN. Not a bad choice, either. She makes it onto TV at least 4X/week.
You forgot to place Larry Hogan as a potential Dem candidate.
“If Chris Christie drops out, the field would be reduced by half.”

POST OF THE DAY !!!!!
Thank you.
“What seems a best-case scenario to me at this point is for Trump to announce fairly early after November, most conservatives stay out, Trump strolls to the nomination, and then names DeSantis to the ticket in the summer of 2024. DeSantis can then say he is grateful and honored to serve Florida but the nation calls.”
From your lips/typing fingers to God’s ears.
And Trump is featured and HONORED heavily in every way at every juncture from 2024 until the end of his (hopefully long) life.
They’d have better luck (as John Candy said) “playing pick-up stix with their butt cheeks.
I had forgotten about that quac bowl that Jeb! had on his site as a fundraiser. Everything about that man and his campaign was so inauthentic.
The establishment consultants and "kingmakers" never forgave Trump for pantsing them, exposing them as utter frauds.
Carpetbagger Liz Cheney is a VERY probable.
These types of lists are usually outdated in a short time and meaningless But if these were the options, it would best if DeSantis got the nom and the others back him early and fully. But the list should look very different by then. No one can be sure who will be off and on such lists even within a year.
Trump, DeSantis and Rand Paul (not mentioned) are the only ones l would consider viable and even remotely trustworthy.
If Trump runs I’m voting for him. He got ****ed out of his 2nd term. If he doesn’t then we’ll see, but I’d lean DeSantis if he ran because he has done a good job as governor of Florida. I’d love to see a Trump/DeSantis ticket, and then DeSantis in 2028. Pence doesn’t exist in my world.
Donald Trump- YES
Ron DeSantis- Yep
Mike Pence- Oh, H*CK NO
Chris Christie- Oh, H*ck nope
Nikki Haley- Nope
Ted Cruz- unfortunately, no
Mike Pompeo- George Bush, is that you? NO!
Kristi Noem- On the R side, just having a vagina doesn’t make you pres material
Tom Cotton- eh, no
Larry Hogan- eh, no
V.P. Tom Cotton
Ted Cruz
The economy could use a little boost after the shut down. Let them all in and hope they can get some cash to spend.
Or, we could have a two woman ticket: Lauren Broebert/MTG.
Now THAT would be fun. Those two have more balls than many “republican” men. Liberal heads really would explode.
Both are Florida residents. Article II of the Constitution effectively prohibits the Electoral College from choosing a President and a Vice President from the same state. Recent example is when Cheney changed his residence to Wyoming from Texas to accommodate W.
No Rand Paul? Don’t sell Paul short.

Rand Paul would be great. He’s the anti-Brandon. Smart, thoughtful, small-government.
I don't think that there is a Consitutional prohibition preventing them both from being in the same state, there may be a prohibition for Florida electors voting for both of them.
This is a History Channel article explaining the Article III provision. Take it for what it's worth...
