I had a friend on that plane. Susie Kolarik. The daughter of my dad's college room mate. A very sad day. Susie was an architect and was having some brilliant success in her field. Our families had many outings together when we were still in junior high school.
I don't know if Susie was a pilot, but her dad and brother both enjoyed stunt flying. They owned a pair of high performance Pitts bi-planes.
I read about that flight. Truly sad; well they all are.
