RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) - Some Vermonters who are able to find antigen tests and then test positive are clogging up emergency rooms.
The emergency department at the Rutland Regional Medical Center has been overwhelmed with asymptomatic folks.
Dr. Rick Hildebrant is RRMC’s medical director. He says some people who test positive with a rapid test go to the emergency room looking for a PCR test.
Hildebrant says those who are asymptomatic and receive a positive antigen test should stay home and reach out to their primary care provider.
He says the only time to go to the ER is if you have a positive test and are very sick.
Hildebrant says the flood of asymptomatic people is preventing others in need of immediate care from getting it.
“It’s not so much the beds that are the precious resource, it’s the staff at this time. So we have to have some of our clinical staff providing care to those people and they can’t provide care to the folks in the ER,” Hildebrant explained.
The Vermont Hospital Association says it’s hearing similar stories from other parts of the state.

Hildebrant says health department PCR testing is the best option for asymptomatic people, even though the results take a little longer.
He says by going to the emergency department, you are also potentially exposing yourself to someone with COVID who is very sick.
Because of their fear it is 30% fatal.
It really exposes the con job. A 99.9%+ survival rate WITHOUT a vaccine, the survival rate with vaccine adds a few 9s...but must be offset from jab deaths.
Nobody wants to be honest about the overall net benefit, as it isn’t the savior they pretend. So let’s allow our governments to destroy freedom over it.
The Absolute Risk Reduction of taking the shot is very small...absolute madness.
Crazy thing; She works at a nursing home and they're required to report cases to the health dept. When we got home from the infusion center, there was a message on the answering machine from someone at the county health dept so she called them back. Just basic question on symptoms. They went through a list and she said yes or no. Then she mentioned the monoclonal and the lady asked if her doctor had arranged it for her. Nope. My husband made me an appointment. Lady said she has had a lot of people ask about it and she had no answer and also said doctors either don't know about them or don't know where to get them.
I called them back and told her I searched duckduckgo for "monoclonal antibody treatment locations missouri" and the first result was for a health.mo.gov webpage that has a link to a map with all MO locations. Yet the county health dept and most doctors have no idea where the infusion centers are and don't know how to do a web search?
Now I see this on that health.mo.gov page
The Ely Lily is the one my wife got. The reason for being put on HOLD? Ineffective against Omicron. They have a link to an order form for facilities and they can order Sotrovimab mAb or the two oral meds that Merck and Pfizer came out with. I doubt they know which one is prevalent here in rural MO, Delta or Omicron but they way I looked at it, if we have Delta, the infusion will help. If we have Omicron, who cares? It's a ColdBro. Either way, I'm taking the full protocol and she's taking the associated vitamins.
When I lived in FL, people there would go to the emergency room for the sniffles. I go when I have a broken bone or need stitches.
They probably rush to the hospital because they hear all the fear mongering.
“vaccine
any preparation of immunogenic material suitable for the stimulation of active immunity in animals without inducing disease....”

My apologies NIfster, that post was not meant for you. I have not abandoned the possibility of voting for Trump again, but his recent 180 on the boosters, which he originally called a money making scam, along with his recent comments of support for Ghislaine Maxwell and even Hunter Biden, indicate to me that he’s undergoing a transition of some sort right now, and I therefore feel compelled to speak out against the changes I see that I don’t like. 2024 is a long ways away still. Thanks.
What test do you recommend?
I heard the monoclonals (general term, not specific ones) are not effective against Omicron, but the majority of cases are “It’s a ColdBro”. Everyone I know with what appears to be the more severe Delta has done well on monoclonals so that was a good precautionary measure ... and fingers crossed it’s Omicron.
Best wishes to you both .... you’re being ‘proactive’ and that goes a long way towards getting through C19 without severe complications.
I would welcome some mental health. I don't see any.
OK, so she got an ineffective infusion, how is she doing otherwise?
MO Health seems to think Sotrovimab is effective against Omicron. I pulled out the paperwork. She got the Eli Lilly mAb on the 22nd and MO Health put a hold on it on the 23rd. I bet there will be a week or so when they don’t have anything to offer because they’re cancelling two before the centers have the ability to get the remaining one or the oral antiviral pills.
So far, it’s not bad at all so it might be Omicron. So now people are going to quarantine for 14 days for a ColdBro?
“If they’re not sick, why are they even testing themselves?”
Hypochondria—now there is a real pandemic!

Ineffective IF it’s Omicron. We’re both doing fine so if it’s Delta, what we’ve been doing is working. If it’s Omicron, not much needed to be done except maybe vitamins. With no way of knowing which one it is, we’re treating it like it’s Delta with monoclonal for her and IVM for me and vitamin regimen for both.
I’ve noticed quarantine times are being reduced for some businesses .... having enough staff to keep things operating is starting to override the 10-14 day quarantines.

Time will tell
The mrna is a messenger. It tells your body how to fight Covid. Since that will not provide immunity I expected it only to give me a fighting chance
Take it or don’t. Matters not to me
Everyone else where my wife works had to quarantine for 10 but it’s 14 days for her.
I appreciate that. My uncle is a doctor who literally just retired last week. His wife a nurse. One niece is a nurse and another was a tech in Hopkins COVID unit.
I’ve had great doctors in the past but most good ones left. I still have many specialists so I’m pretty well aware of how things are going. It’s not always the docs but they are indeed being pressured with policies of how to run things, and their staff are the watchdogs. These policies lack compassion, never mind sense.
You can get kicked out for being honest on their screening questions and saying someone is being tested, you can be kicked out for having HAD COVID but “it’s too soon”. Losing your cancer follow up, and funny, finding cancer a couple months later. You can lose connection with your elderly bad-hearing mom when she goes in the ER, not knowing if she’ll understand anything or what will happen. Ok, it’s not the doctors but they’re “just following orders”.
No, this has been a disaster for compassion. I have stories galore. It angers me to no end…then add BLM Brownshirts on top of it and I’ve been in a pretty bad state.
Because they’re POSITIVE!!!!!!!
