Maybe hire better officers
I am utterly shocked that they could reach this conclusion. This one hits me hard. I did not feel this towards the Auberry verdict. I am not racist, but this poor woman deserved a verdict commensurate with her crime. Sooo distraught.
At the rate they do not allow any mistakes with police officers without charging them they’ll soon find officers holding back entirely when we really need them to act.
That’s why all those conservatives who were praising the neutrality of the courts and juries over the Rittenhouse case were overreacting. Wokeness still matters over justice in extremely liberal jurisdictions where fair trials can’t be obtained.
Very sad.
I don’t disagree with the decision (I never assume I know more than the jury that sat through the trial), but I hope she gets a light sentence. She’s no danger to society due to this conviction.
Horrible career ending accident. A male cop shot a black guy and killed him the same way a couple of years ago, I never heard how that one came out. Several cops were struggling with the guy, who was on a concrete floor. Cop pulled his pistol thinking it was his taser and shot the guy point blank in the back.
Democrats are evil scum.
She was convicted because she was white and the criminal was black.
What an early Christmas present for her.
It’s sad for everyone involved. If he had simply followed instructions, he would be alive today, and this poor ladies life would be good too.
why why why do these people RESIST ARREST !!!
Sad, didn’t appear to be intentional. Unlike Alex Baldwin.
Brooklyn, Minnesota?
That’s a suburb of Mogadishu, N.A.
Standby for another 1000 police officers retiring or quitting.
A shame she will do more time than the POS she shot ever did. If he’d been in jail where he belonged he wouldn’t have gotten killed.
So... The message is... When you get stopped by the police there is no need to comply... Just get into your car and drive away?
QUIT.THE.POLICE.DEPARTMENT.NOW!
There is NO basis for first degree manslaughter in this case.
Minnesota statute:
https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/609.20
Following the statute, in order for first degree manslaughter to apply, the actor must do any of the following (references to paragraphs) :
(1) Intentionally cause the death of another...
(2) in committing or attempting to commit a misdemeanor ..
(3) Intentional causes the death of another ...
(4) Unlawfully (dealing with) a controlled substance
(5) malicious punishment of a child...
So the jury decided she should have let him kill her partner.
From what I know of the circumstances she would have been justified in using lethal force. The danger the suspect posed isn’t lessened by the officer’s decision to use less lethal. Had a more competent office shot the suspect dead this probably would never have made National News.
Sad for the police officer, but realistically any private individual who did the same in that area would be in jail as well.
Location matters and it matters bigly. The writing is on the wall for the deep blue areas. Conservatives living there need to be on their way out the door.
Another show trial like Chauvin’s. Why would ANYONE be a cop?
