Donald Trump said Wednesday that people unvaccinated against coronavirus are the ones getting 'very sick' as he pushed back against conservative Candace Owens by claiming all Americans should get the jab while he again took credit for its creation.

'I came up with a vaccine – with three vaccines,' Trump told the Daily Wire host, referring to the development of the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines while he was still president. 'All are very, very good. Came up with three of them in less than nine months. It was supposed to take five to 12 years.'

Really? By all means, please provide us with the number of COVID deaths among the vaccinated in the US. I'll wait here while you dig up the number.

Yea, I need to hear him talk to form an actual opinion. Articles are parsed a lot. I’ve learned that over the years. It’s even worst with Trump now because he’s been banished from public life so can’t get any videos of him talking at length. I followed his Presidency very closely and more often than not watching the clips give a different vibe than reading the stories. Now all I have are the stories which are trying to make him look bad. Probably DeSantisites using the banishment to try and rebrand Trump. If they go head to head Trump won’t be nice. Anyone who claims that the vaccine is completely safe is either a fool, or lying to us, for all the reasons you gave.

At the same time, Covid also is a risk, particularly for certain demographics. The data is necessarily incomplete precisely because it is so new, so there are unknowns on both sides.

That being said, refusing to make a decision just because data is incomplete strikes me as illogical. So I'm squarely in the camp of believing each person needs to consider their own individual situation, and make the best decision possible with the limited information we have. For me, that means I got the initial shots, but no booster since I'd rather just get Omicron.

I do think the choosing of sides based on whether or not someone gets vaxxed is rather ridiculous, on both sides.

How are death rates looking in countries where few people are vaccinated? That should tell the tale.

Speaking only for myself, I was not going to get the shot when it first came out simply because:

- Never before used technology
- Truncated testing

Originally I took a wait and see approach for these reasons. Oh, and I had been exposed (for sure, no ambiguity at all) for a long duration and the family did not get sick.

The death rate over the past year is somewhat higher.

This is because people are in 2021 generally living normal lives instead of generally cowering in fear in their own homes as in 2020.

Fear saved many lives in 2020.
