President Joe Biden's decision to wait until Tuesday to address his plan to combat the rapidly spreading COVID Omicron variant has been met with incredulity as many criticized his apparent lack of urgency while he spends the weekend in Delaware.

It comes after Vice President Kamala Harris admitted on Friday that the administration was not prepared for the variant as cases doubled over the past 24 hours, with all but six states confirming cases, stoking fears of shutdowns similar to the ones in 2020.

Some have claimed that waiting till next week to outline a plan against Omicron is not a proactive move for a president who famously vowed to 'shut down the virus.'

Idk. Delta was a killer. But Omicron gets rid of delta faster than we ever could. And hardly makes anyone sick.

Yep. Omicron seems to drop in, send Delta packing, hang out to hand out a few headaches, a weekend of blah, then it moves right on to the next SA province. In a month or less.
Empty hospital beds left behind as it departs.

When I first began reading about it I wanted to go get some and bring it home to Michigan. We have been getting killed by delta for the last month.

There is simply no way any disease doubles infections in 24 hours. Let’s do some math and make some heads hurt, OK, boys and girls?

If the infection rate of covid was 100%, meaning every single person who came into contact with covid contracted it, it would mean that to double the number of infections means there had to have been people infected coming into contact with other people. Did we really have twice as many infected people moving around these past few days? Didn’t think so.
