Symptoms associated with the Covid omicron variant could be similar to those that normally accompany a cold. Experts are warning that the strain could be easily mistaken for a mild, everyday illness. The Zoe Covid Study analyses thousands of Covid symptoms uploaded to an app by the British public.
This initial analysis found similarities between the delta and the omicron variants, suggesting the latter hasn't mutated back into the more flu-like symptoms of previous Covid strains. The team said that the top five symptoms reported in the Zoe app in those two different weeks were:
Runny nose Headache Fatigue (either mild or severe) Sneezing Sore throat
London was selected for the Zoe analysis due to the higher prevalence of omicron compared with other regions. The omicron variant is already the dominant strain in the capital and will soon account for nearly all infections in London and the wider U.K.

Looks like a duck, walks like a duck, it is a duck. Enough of this nonsense already.
Amen.
So if it’s only got the symptoms of a common cold, then it’s harmless
we don’t see people panicking over the common cold, so we don’t need to panic over Xi / Omicron / whatever
(BTW even the common cold kills some people every year)
Hmmm... Come to think of it, I have had headache fatigue in the past. But not in conjunction with a sneezing sore throat.
Hmmm, that’s how I feel when ragweed and mountain cedar are doing their thing.
Some will underestimate it....folks like CNBC will overestimate it....How about I just ignore it altogether then, since Ive had covid.
Wife’s getting over omicron.
No big deal. Zero attempts to quarantine from family. Heck, I kissed her every day.
Last Saturday, out of the blue I started sneezing like crazy. I probably sneezed fifty times. That’s never happened to me before. Outside everything was covered in snow and the temps were 23 to 35, so nothing was blooming. Then, the next day my nose turned on like a faucet and that continued for 30 hours. Mild sore throat. I skipped the gym on Sat to Tues, gargled with Betadine, and rested. By Thursday, all was back to normal. Has about a one degree temp the first day, but that came down on Sunday.
It was all very weird and unprecedented. I’m not sure what that was, but thank God I made it through ok. It was a close call!
The label that assures you that whatever comes next, is complete b.s.
“It is a chicken little world.”
That’s the worst thing of all, isn’t it? This mass hysteria is frightening, especially so because people have shown they will accept any tyrannical measure to stop the disease.
The team said that the top five symptoms reported in the Zoe app in those two different weeks were:
Runny nose
Headache
Fatigue (either mild or severe)
Sneezing
Sore throat

So what exactly is the “risk”? The risk is Omicron is no different than a common cold and the government’s draconian forced vaxx mandates look increasingly absurd. Yes, let’s fire everyone who won’t take an experimental mRNA vaxx because of the overwhelming danger of a runny nose.
“Runny nose Headache Fatigue (either mild or severe) Sneezing Sore throat“
I can see Obi Wan Kenobi now: “..these are not the mild symptoms you actually have… you’re DYING.. you have mere HOURS to live… run to the hospital in fear and panic..”
Now watch them ban NyQuil from being distributed now, and a pulling of the NyQuil ads from TV.
Has anyone heard if omicron infects those with the original covid antibodies??
I doubt they would report it.
Big Pharma needs the fear of cash cowvid to remain.
I feel bad for the people who subject themselves to this pounding negativity all day long.
It is very blissful coming home after work or after a nice walk in the woods and playing some music while opening a good book and maybe a bottle of wine.
The television set is very Orwellian. Millions of slack-jawed people sit mesmerized in front of it day and night and become nothing more than robots.
No redeeming value to televison whatsoever. If you want to watch the occasional move or perhaps have a show you want to stream now and again, that's not so bad. But otherwise have it turned off. Never have the TV as "background" as so many people do. I know people who get out of bed, turn the TV on and have it on in the background until they go to bed. That's not good at all!
I know people who have FoxNews, MSNBC, or whatever, on practically 24/7. I literally cannot visit my parents house very often because they never turn FoxNews off. All day long it's whooshing graphics, breaking news this and breaking news that (which is far more abused than the breaking news sidebar here) and a bunch of people shouting at each other. I don't know how anybody can stand it. Torture!
Gotta keep pushing that fear.
The sad thing is the number of people who will believe this. Hey, the TV said so…
Runny nose
Headache
Fatigue (either mild or severe)
Sneezing
Sore throat
Having allergies, I must have been suffering from OMICRON!! for most of my life.. Haven’t died from it even once!
And I was thinking it was just my allergies. Guess I better make out my will before I die.
“This is why everybody needs to shut down their television sets and start living their lives.“
^ ^ ^
THIS - is how this “pandemic” goes away.
Yes, even folks on our side - SHUT THE TV OFF! Live your life!
It’s no longer “news”; we are NOT being “informed”.
Our nation’s media is a political propaganda machine - hell bent on controlling us. Turn them OFF.
Watch how the stress falls away!
Has anyone heard if omicron infects those with the original covid antibodies??
Probably too soon to know. Without meaningful data over time one guess is no better than another guess.
My natural immunity is just beginning. Spent a week in hospital, out 2 days now.
IMO the most important question about any new variant is how likely is it that it will progress to pneumonia. If the the progression to pneumonia is less likely the prognosis is a lot more promising.
I will share this personal recommendation ad nauseam, do not care if anyone doesn’t like it, if it just helps on fellow Freeper. Buy an oximeter for your personnel home medical device tool box. I am convinced I would have ended up much worse without the use of this tool. My O2 level dropped below 90% but honestly didn’t feel that bad. My wife insisted on me getting checked out and damn if I didn’t pneumonia. That tool is the only thing that indicated something was very wrong.
