Is this for the Super Walmarts or the Walmart Markets which are just grocery stores?
You can shop online now. It’s fast and convenient and they’ll deliver in the time frame of your choice.
Soon to arrive robot controlled drive by vending grocery store machines?.
The problem is, with produce and meat, you take what they give you.
I like to pick out what I am buying myself. If the produce doesn’t look like good quality, then I skip it and find something else. Nor do I want them making substitutions for me.
I prefer to do my own shopping.

I totally agree. I prefer to do my own shopping as well, but when I was sick or couldn’t leave the house I ordered on line and loved it. Of course, it’s more expensive but it is sure worth it.
**BTW: Which grocery chain isn’t “woke” these days? **
HARP’S works well for me. Plenty of checkers when needed.
Publix is the best. I drive way out of my way to go there. The employees are so nice and always helpful. I wish other companies would find out how they have such great employees.
Glad to read that Publix is not on the woke bandwagon (at least yet). I like Publix, the other local option is Winn Dixie which I do not.
Publix is expensive, but you just have to plan (w/ the online circulars). No one should be happy paying $5.75/jar for quality mayonnaise, but if you plan and just use the BOGO’s for your pantry, you can manage just fine (imo).
The other thing I love about my Publix is it’s 2 minutes away - right between me and the beach, and it’s sort of small. I can walk there, or I can go get half/half for coffee at 6:59AM. I love the selections at Wegman’s, but 1) I wouldn’t want one here by the beach and 2) it would take me 10 minutes to find the half/half.
I should have mentioned I live in Southern California.
Choices are:
Vons
Ralphs (bought out by Kroger)
Sprouts
Whole Paycheck
CostCo
Walmart
Target
All thankfully have self-check out, which saves me a lot of time - b/c of employment laws here, there are never enough check-stands open.
I’d just like to spend my hard-earned money at stores that respect my views.
I like Publix' danish bakery and deli....outside of that, I hold my nose and do my shopping at WalMart.
Here I save up to 40% ( ! ) over the prices at Publix, sometimes more. I kid you not.
The savings I 'm enjoying are enormous...and, most local folks I know are now shopping WalMart because financial survival is paramount these days.
You do what ya hafta do even when it goes against your political grain, sad to say.

I don’t buy much meat (other than ground beef) at Publix - Chicken breasts & steaks I get at Doris’ Market. The subs @ Publix are a good value - especially the chicken tender sub when on sale. I’ve noticed that milk is very expensive at my Publix lately. But cheese is still reasonable. If I had a family to feed, I’d be right there w/ you at Wally World for the milk alone.

San Fran, Calif is passing a new law:
EMPLOYERS MUST PAY SICK LEAVE to nannies-—house cleaning persons—gardeners-—Other various workers ....
LOTS of elderly retirees where I live.
IF Wal Mart does change to entirely self-checkout-—I will FILL a cart & walk out & then take my shopping $$$ elsewhere.
I will repeat as necessary.
Their employees have the ability to buy the company stock, I think. At least, it used to be that way a bazillion years ago.
Taking my business back to Sprouts.
