Gov. Andy Beshear said dozens, maybe up to 100, were killed in western Kentucky after a long and significant tornado ripped through the area overnight.
"We believe our death toll from this event will exceed 50 Kentuckians and probably end up 70 to 100," said Beshear.
The city of Mayfield, Kentucky was hit particularly hard, including a candle manufacturing factory that was operating at the time the twister hit. There were 110 people in the building at the time that it was nearly collapsed by the tornado. Dozens are expected to be lost from there, Beshear said.

Why isn’t he at the Army-Navy game?
Well..they are red states you know.
That Pig Faced SOB would actually be stupid enough to come right out and admit to it also.

Too many Trumpsters potentially shouting you know what.
Just awful. God bless them. I bet the Baptist men are helping.
Hey,
I was curious if there were any damages to homes in Campbellsville.
I used to live on Lakeview Dr. And my mom recently sold the house. She has lived in that house for over 40 years and is worried about her neighbors.
I’m sure there will be coverage in the CKNJ but she likely won’t get that paper for an extra week or more in Cincinnati.
Thanks for any insight!
Most of the south are slab houses now. Ours is, even the old big 2 story 1 we sold to down size was without a basement. This is a Starter home, about right for 2 seniors. Has a floored attic though. Ham Radio tower is out. Net slow.
Actually, if you go to youtube, and do a search on Taylor county tornado, you will find stories that actually show the damage right around my house. Fortunately the damage all happened in an area starting in saloma and headed through the north side of Findlay ridge and across highway 68 and into Lebanon a little bit.
Some of the damage was pretty bad, but fortunately it’s here in a low population density area.
Thank you very much for the reply. I will pass that along.
Stay well!
