Urea shortage puts supply chain under ‘extreme pressure’ with supplies at risk and prices to soar

Urea not your urea.

"The world is currently facing a major shortage of urea, a key ingredient found in diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) – also known as AdBlue – and a large component in fertiliser."

"A major factor in the supply disruption is the fact China – which previously supplied 80 per cent of Australia’s urea supplies – has recently banned the export of the product, in order to lower fertiliser prices domestically."

NO problem as most citizens will be held in camps anyway. They can perfect Soylent Green.

How DEF does a civilization need to be to shut down their way of life to appease the god of climate change? The Aztecs used to sacrifice virgins to their gods, now the Libs are sacrificing their civilization to their make up gods. Seen any Aztecs lately?

More environmental bull crap. Modern cars have over a HUNDRED sensors, valves and other hardware only for emission control.

In the case of DEF, if you run out, your vehicle goes into limp mode and won't go over 30 mph until you fill up with DEF. Granted you get hundreds of miles of warning you're running out, but it's crazy running out of an emission control solution will disable your vehicle.

Wanna bet that's not the real reason the ChiComs are doing it...

What happens when you put water into your urea bottle? Just curious, I mean of course it will increase exhaust fumes and particulate matter, but would the vehicle know the difference, and would it actually hurt the diesel engine to do this?

I'm thinking that even if it's a crime I'm not going to get locked into safe mode due to a shortage like this, and will do just about anything to get around it temporarily like millions of others would.

This Obama $hit pisses me off every time I fill up my Cummings. I now keep two extra jugs on hand (in a closet in the utility room with winter upon us).

Newer diesels like my Duramax will detect it and still enable limp mode.

So clean burning diesel regulations enacted to combat the imaginary idea of climate change will end up halting deliveries in an already stressed to the max system.

Yep, I drive a truck and that’s happened to me before. It ticks me off to no end because it’s completely unnecessary, the only reason we have to put this sh*t in the truck is so people like AlHole Gore can make money and if you run low on the crap it’s very hard to find a gas station or store that sells it.

Or what has happened to me twice already the DEF pump fails and of course the truck shuts down and a tow truck has to be called because God forbid I should drive a truck with no DEF a few miles to a garage. This is all about money, just like the vaccine, just like Obamacare, mandating people buy something is extremely profitable.

I think the spot price of urea is over $1,000 per metric ton right now. It was $245 this time last year.

There’s a shortage of nitrogen fertilizer as well. Perhaps the retreat in the price of NG will help, but CF Industries’ anti-dumping suit probably isn’t helping.

Chinese gov’t has effectively banned #phosphate exports thru June ‘22

China accounts for almost 30% of world trade. This is bad for global phosphate prices and even worse for those highly dependent on those tons (i.e. Australia)

Watch for #urea similar action

Every diesel truck that I have bought since introduction of DEF have had “deletes” done. Meaning removal of all the crap that restricts exhaust flow, carbon injection into the motor from exhaust and so on.

Mileage goes up and power is returned
