It’s good to have the option. Why in Hell would you open carry someplace that causes people, including 2A supporters, anxiety just to show you can carry in the open? That is not good optics when trying to win new friends and influence people.
I live in an open carry state, and I don’t think I have ever taken advantage of the God given right.

Makes me wonder how they prepare their food without knives. I am told that the reason Asians eat with chopsticks is that the Buddha teaches that knives at the table represent a form of aggression, so they switched to chopsticks.

Funny, I ‘feel’ the opposite. Officers with guns make me feel safe. I do go to today’s uncivilized cities, but if I had to do so I’d want officers with guns around me at all times.

If it wasn’t a fact that they pay taxes to the city then they are allowed to have police protection even if they don’t want that protection.
It may be time to go back to of way of fire and police protection that if you did not pay the local protection group you had no support (insurance). I guess the cost of business insurance will rise then all you have left is the mafia asking to pay dues to insure your business is not destroyed for non payment of dues.
Note to all the thieves and muggers in the LA area it’s open house, so have at it at Hilda and Jess’s place. Hopefully the cops will stay away when called.

Well the sarcasm on the end of your comment doesn’t really deserve an answer but I’ll give you a few anyway.
This is Texas and to try and carry concealed during the summer is almost impossible. During the winter no problem.
The last thing I want to happen if I need to quickly draw a weapon is to have it get hung up in clothing.
I use my strong-arm side for drawing a weapon, I use the offside to push away or defend myself until I can get a weapon clear. If it’s busy trying to clear clothing out of the way then part of my defense is unavailable.
I carried weapons in the military and weapons with the Sheriff’s department and always carried openly, as do all departments of street and county level enforcement.
And lastly I don’t give a chit if me carrying open causes you or anybody else fear or anxiety, that’s a problem you or they have to deal with, I haven’t had one person in the last 6 years complain or ask me to leave a place of business due to me carrying openly. Seems the only grief I catch comes from those who are suppose to be on the same side Constitutional wise. We can be our own worst enemies.
