When progressive House Democrats fought a vote to pass aid for Israel’s Iron Dome defense shield, the outrage among both mainstream Democrats and Republicans boiled over.
Florida Democratic Rep. Ted Deutch asserted that the opposition permitted “the dismantling of the one Jewish state in the world.” The National Republican Senatorial Committee labeled the progressives as “anti-Israel radicals.”
In the end, just 4% of House Democrats -- eight in total, along with one Republican -- Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie -- voted against the $1 billion defense appropriation in September.
But in the two months since then, the Senate’s taken no action to finalize passage. And Jewish Democrats are largely blaming one man: Rand Paul
Paul objected to unanimous consent passage of the funding in an attempt to extract a condition that the $1 billion for Israel come out of the $3.6 billion remaining allocated for the reconstruction of Afghanistan, which the U.S. military departed in August.
That money was appropriated before the Taliban’s takeover of the country and Paul wants to ensure those dollars aren’t spent on a faction that America was at war with for 20 years.
President Joe Biden’s administration has frozen Afghanistan’s assets and said it would continue to deny the Taliban funding, but hasn’t ruled out eventually sending money to the regime depending on its actions and commitments it makes to the international community.
“The only people standing in the way of funding Iron Dome are the Democrats who are absurdly blocking Dr. Paul’s GOP-supported efforts to fund it with money that would otherwise end up in the hands of the Taliban,” said Paul spokeswoman Kelsey Cooper.

“We do need a friend in the Middle East, and Israel has been a friend.”
Some friend, more like an ungrateful parasite.
Report: Israel Passes U.S. Military Technology to China

I said I am against foreign aid at all.But if we ate giving aid, Israel should get it.
I see you are using native word to describe Israel. Understand something, Christianity is Jewish faith, and the church has NOT replaced Israel. Israel is not a parasite, it is a country that for the most part has been friendly towards us.
Nazi word
10-4
I can’t find a single word in the Constitution that authorizes the Federal Government to give US taxpayer money to foreign countries for any purpose.
That’s my objection. I don’t care who it is.
L
Why would any right-thinking American want to provide financial support to Nazis?
I said I agree. But if aid is going out, than Israel should get it.
That is a really bad thing, bad enough when our own guys are doing that us.
” Also, the special relationship we have with Israel tends to limit their sales of advanced weaponry to potential US enemies.”
Don’t make me laugh, they’ve been selling their military tech (some of which they’ve gained from the US) to our enemies for years. But since the Israel Lobby owns our Congress they continue to get away with it.

Rabbinical Talmudism has nothing to do with Christianity, and that is what the Orthodox follow. The True Torah Jews are another matter, but they are condemned by the vast majority of Jews.
“Nazi word”
Personal attacks are against the rules here. But since you have no logical argument, I guess you are reduced to that level.
Parasite is what Antisemities have called Jewish for ages.
Well Rabbinical Judaism is what the VAST MAJORITY of Jews follow, apparently you lack knowledge in this area.
More and more Jews are coming to faith in YESHUA,PTL!
Well that’s great but this thread is really about foreign aid, so I don’t want to go off on that irrelevant tangent here.
Some great points made in this thread.
I too am against foreign aid but applaud Rand for at least trying something like this on behalf of the U.S. taxpayer
I’m quite surprised by some of the (forceful) points made here which you wouldn’t have heard on this subject in conservative circles even a few years ago.
What’s changed?
