When progressive House Democrats fought a vote to pass aid for Israel’s Iron Dome defense shield, the outrage among both mainstream Democrats and Republicans boiled over.
Florida Democratic Rep. Ted Deutch asserted that the opposition permitted “the dismantling of the one Jewish state in the world.” The National Republican Senatorial Committee labeled the progressives as “anti-Israel radicals.”
In the end, just 4% of House Democrats -- eight in total, along with one Republican -- Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie -- voted against the $1 billion defense appropriation in September.
But in the two months since then, the Senate’s taken no action to finalize passage. And Jewish Democrats are largely blaming one man: Rand Paul
Paul objected to unanimous consent passage of the funding in an attempt to extract a condition that the $1 billion for Israel come out of the $3.6 billion remaining allocated for the reconstruction of Afghanistan, which the U.S. military departed in August.
That money was appropriated before the Taliban’s takeover of the country and Paul wants to ensure those dollars aren’t spent on a faction that America was at war with for 20 years.
President Joe Biden’s administration has frozen Afghanistan’s assets and said it would continue to deny the Taliban funding, but hasn’t ruled out eventually sending money to the regime depending on its actions and commitments it makes to the international community.
“The only people standing in the way of funding Iron Dome are the Democrats who are absurdly blocking Dr. Paul’s GOP-supported efforts to fund it with money that would otherwise end up in the hands of the Taliban,” said Paul spokeswoman Kelsey Cooper.

Rand Paul sometimes is correct
Rand Paul is correct in this instance trying to make sure we do not fund the Taliban like we most regrettably are funding PLO-Abbas and other terrorist murder gangs
I agree with him on this.
But, holding up the replenishment of defensive missiles for the IDF is WRONG WRONG WRONG. Very very wrong, just about as badly wrong as is possible for moi to imagine.
Rand should definitely continue fighting against funding the Taliban.. yes yes.... but NOT at the expense of the Israeli Defense Forces
Senator Paul can certainly find some other bill to “hold hostage” if this is how he feels he must “play the political game” in the Senate
I understand that but I am talking about the future, after this matter is over.
Screw "Jewish Democrats".
Yes, they will will be judged by YESHUA harshly, when the time comes as will all the nation’s. But only the LORD has the right to judge them.
If they want it, let them pay for it themselves. US dollars should not be paying for it.
That golden dome Islamic shrine in Jerusalem is a daily reminder that God is in charge.
Israel and the US ain’t..
I did no such thing, Pecos Bill.
We've given billions of dollars to Israel and all we get in return is spying, groups like ADL trolling social media for "hate" speech, and dual-citizenship from many members of Congress.
Maybe like spies like Pollard? Nearly sinking USS Liberty?
Most Isralis love the US, and the government has almost always been friendly. It is the synagogue of satan in this country, that is trying to destroy it, and they hate Israel as well. If by spying you mean Pollard, than he should gotten the chair.
“Jewish democrats”
Like “wet water” and “hot heat”?
The thing they hate the most is the way.
“...and the government has almost always been friendly.”
Cut off the money and see how friendly they are. They would be running to China so fast it would make your head spin.
“ But only the LORD has the right to judge them.”
We are not discussing the LORD here, we are discussing US taxpayer obligations.
If only the LORD can judge Israel, maybe he can pay for Iron Dome. Maybe he can even pay my taxes.
But until he does, I, along with every other taxpayer, has a perfect right to judge how our money gets spent.
I agree with no foreign aid. This country IS the LORD YESHUAS, and his ONLY. I don’t quite understand your dislike of Israel.
I would go further than Rand Paul and refuse funds for either. The Israelis are hardly broke, let them start paying for their own defense.
Since democRATs have 50 votes in the Senate and the VP tie-breaker then Rand Paul’s vote is immaterial, and they know it. One of the perks of being a leftist is saying stupid things. Another perk is covering up your own murders as governor. I read an article over at AMgreatness about who, “Andrew Cuomo Personally Made Changes to Report Downplaying COVID-19 Nursing Home Deaths”, so give that a look. He knew those people would die, which is why he removed his own mother from a nursing home before he sent those with covid there. The left can only get away with comments like this because of a populace ignorant of how our government is designed to work, and a MSM that keeps it that way.
Agree
There should be NO money for Afghanistan. They are our enemy.
If you believe this current version of Israel is under God’s protection then they don’t need US taxpayer money
Yes, and watch it collapse in on itself like a dying star. Good riddance.
