The jury has reached a verdict in the trial of Travis McMichael and his father, Gregory, and their neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan.
The three men, who are white, each face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and criminal attempt to commit a felony in the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery, 25, who was Black, on Feb. 23, 2020, in Georgia.
They face up to life in prison if convicted of the more serious charges.
The nearly all-white jury, which has one Black member, began deliberating the men's fate on Tuesday.
Felony murder?
That’s redundant.
What degree?
To understand what really happened, I ask persons willing to devote more than a minute or so to what was a matter of life or death to view my posts in another thread starting with post 51 and the plain, uncommented video that follows.
“Most FREEPERS due to regions they live in are clueless about living around black culture
It makes them self righteous”
I live outside of a metro area that is 50% black. I can’t say that I would react any differently if blacks or white meth heads or any other outsider came into my neighborhood causing problems and the police would not help (as was the case in this situation). I thought that most Freepers would feel that way, but I was wrong, and I’m still a little disappointed to find that out. I had a debate with a couple of Freepers yesterday and as far as I could tell their attitude was that they would just hide if they had someone preying on their neighborhood instead of risking a confrontation. But everyone can be pushed over the edge, and I think that’s what happened here.
Uh..in those 25-30 times did you watch the part in which the shooting takes place? Didn't you see Arbery, having run past the truck on the right side, with nobody blocking his way and with an open path of escape in front of him -- turn sharply left and charge across the front of the truck to attack Travis, who had remained on the left side -- VIEWER WARNING: Uncut video of confrontation, shooting of Ahmaud Arbery (News4JAX).
To find Travis and the others guilty of murder under those conditions was an evil thing to do. Yet most of the country, on both sides of the political spectrum, made up their minds based on ignorance, media misrepresentations, or political expediency, and don't give a damn.
Did the dead man attempt to take the gun away from the man who shot him to me that mitigates murder into perhaps manslaughter at most can someone hear explain to me why I’m wrong
A white person particular A southerner
Will not Get a fair trial if they commit a crime against a minority which is kind of ironic today isn’t it everyone acts like it’s still 1963 Philadelphia Mississippi state that I come from after six generations of settlers
Right.
I guess Neighborhood Watch is a thing of the past now.
I haven’t followed this case. I remember when it happened.
TBH....I didn’t think it would end well since they appeared to be chasing him.
JMH.
Many have discussed this and covered this. Colin Flaherty used to have a regular podcast discussing out of control black crime and the culture of anti-white racism and violence amongst them.
Naturally, he was removed from YouTube and I suspect from many other avenues eventually.
I live in Houston nowadays so I hear about it when I turn on the radio each morning.
I think the Arbery guy is guilty of burglarizing that house. That said, these fellas were fools for chasing him down the road. Was this self defense? Maybe, both sides were defending themselves. Problem is, these guys were totally wrong setting up a confrontation with Arbery. Just call the cops guys. I know they suck sometimes, but this is what you get trying to play cop. Hell. even the cops get convicted for stuff like this.
If the house being burgled was not their own home, they just appeared to be guys out to take the law in their own hands. It was immensely stupid on their part.
I am sure these guys wish they had never did what they did, but it it no surprise that they will pay for their foolishness.
If he was “jogging” in work boots, where did all the talk about dirty toe nails come from?
When you bring a gun to the party you have a higher responsibility to manage the situation. These three guys failed in that and somebody ended up shot/dead. Nobody would have gotten shot/killed had they not brought a gun. They escalated the situation way beyond what was necessary and are paying the price for that.
I had forgotten that the work boots had been corrected when this was originally discussed on FR right after it happened.
“Nobody would have gotten shot/killed had they not brought a gun.”
Huh, that’s exactly, word for word, what the libs say about Kyle Rittenhouse.
Maybe you’ll be happier after the sentencing.
And, I respectfully disagree with you. The three men are not guilty of all those charges. This was a political witch hunt of a trial.
The jury has spoken. Now it’s the judge’s turn.
Meanwhile, another squirrel is about to dart across the road.
Huh? It was a mob of many violently attacking Kyle. This was 3 on 1 and the suspected perp was not armed. Has it been explained why the 3 bubbas needed a shot gun? If they couldn’t take care of business 3 on 1 they had no business escalating the situation. Sorry, stupidity all around here.
Fascinating.
*spit*
"Elizabeth Graddy, an attorney for the homeowner, Larry English, said the text exchange occurred on December 20, 2019. In it, English sends a video clip from his surveillance camera to the police officer. The officer responded, telling English that one of English's neighbors is Gregory McMichael, a retired police officer and retired investigator in the local district attorney's office.""McMichael "said please call him day or night when you get action on your camera," the officer wrote in his text message to English".
Try watching Officer Tatum, a black conservative, who was a cop.
Deceased took off running. He had been seen in the neighborhood a few times and there ewes a rash of break-ins. The father and son were part of a community watch. Cops were called. They were waiting for the cops to show and didn’t want the victim to run away. The son who actually did the shooting asked him what he was doing in the neighborhood. No answer whatsoever. He took off running, he jumped the son, there was a scuffle and he was shot. Apparently the son was trying to make a citzens arrest. The initial investigator said the shooting was justified. Sharpton and the usual race-baiters got initial prosecutor fired, charges were brought and of course they were all three convicted. Son for murder with malice. They thru the book at him. The father was sitting in the back of the truck and was basically charged with murder because he didn’t try to stop the shooting. Another guy had nothing at all to do with the case but he taped it. Guilty! Die in prison. Cops used his video to convict the primary suspect. His lawyer has appealed.
Georgia doesn't have degrees of murder. It's malice murder or the slightly less serious felony murder.

See, here’s the problem. You don’t know what you’re talking about. How could they know he wasn’t armed? It wasn’t three on one, it was two. All the other guy did was take a video. The first shot Kyle took was at one unarmed person. And I would really like to see you explain the difference between the Kyle shooting (which I assume you’re okay with) and this one. I’m talking about the point at which each took the shot. You didn’t address your comment where you said the same exact thing libs say about Kyle.
