The jury has reached a verdict in the trial of Travis McMichael and his father, Gregory, and their neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan.
The three men, who are white, each face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and criminal attempt to commit a felony in the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery, 25, who was Black, on Feb. 23, 2020, in Georgia.
They face up to life in prison if convicted of the more serious charges.
The nearly all-white jury, which has one Black member, began deliberating the men's fate on Tuesday.
The first shooting happened the instance Arbery passed the truck.
So that statement is clearly NOT correct!
So true.
I’m laughing.
thanks. i did not understand the citizens arrest aspect.
they participated in the false imprisonment
I’m surprised it’s malice murder
Would have figured lesser
Apparently you know nothing about Arbery.
Most FREEPERS due to regions they live in are clueless about living around black culture
It makes them self righteous
I noticed that day one 21 years ago
America today is more concerned over white malfeasance new or old than the clear and present danger that much of black culture presents to the nation and to blacks themselves
That’s the focus while the real issue is ignored
Well, it might have been a lazy prosecutor in not lining up his stipulations at pre-trial, but without a stipulation, the judge has nothing to do with the proof of facts.
You’re speculating.
I respect your opinions.
I think life is adequate.
Have a good afternoon.
Which is a crime, but it’s not murder.
Hardly. Arbery had a record and McMichaels Sr knew him from being a cop. This was discussed at length on FR back when Arbery was shot.
This one was about three guys chasing down a dude they perceived as being a thug. Whether he was or not is really not the issue. Ya just can’t arm yourself, chase down a guy, attempt to detain him by force or arms, shoot the guy and claim self defence.
I knew from the beginning these guys were in a whole lotta doo doo.
Why are the other 2 guilty of murder, if only one pulled the trigger? I haven’t been following
According to a story in the DM, Arbery was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder after a confrontation with his mother where he refused to let go of her car keys. And, again according to that story, trace amounts of THC were found in his blood. If true, may or may not have had anything to do with his reaction.
That said, it looks like the jury made the right decision.
But in none of them is there evidence that he stole anything.
I asked the same question and nobody posted a convincing reply. I might agree they were all guilty if I knew more.
No, I don’t think they did.
It escalated.
Next time someone with a gun tells me they want to talk to me and or wants me to wait there until the cops get there, instead of doing so, I think I’ll charge the person with the gun in a threatening manner and see how that works out.
This was recorded before the verdict but may be of interest.
