Go Ron go!
Governor Ron DeSantis continues to demonstrate he is for the people of his state, announcing Monday the Republican-dominant Florida legislature will work to suspend the state’s gas tax to help residents combat the ever rising inflation. The suspension will provide a whopping $1 billion in relief to Florida drivers.
DeSantis, speaking at a Buc-ee’s gas station and convenience store in Daytona Beach, blamed “inflationary policies out of Washington” for driving up prices ahead of the holidays.
The Biden administration has created huge inflation with excessive government spending to the tune of 6.2%. Not only has inflation soared under Biden, but his advisors seem to have no answers to stopping it, they actually seem clueless.
Biden’s economic advisor, Brian Deese, actually went on Good Morning America and said the number one thing to help inflation, “We have to finish job on COVID…getting those shots out to 5-11-year-olds is gonna provide a lot of comfort to American families.”

Fortunately for Floridians, Gov DeSantis is taking action to help his constituents find some relief.
“The price of a Thanksgiving dinner is up over 20% just over last year,” DeSantis said. “I think what’s most dramatic, because it affects most people in their daily lives, is gas prices going up.”
DeSantis pointed out that the price of gas today is up a whopping $1.31 over the price a year ago.
“We think this is a huge problem for working families in Florida. Really it hits everybody, but it particularly hits blue-collar people, people on fixed income,” DeSantis said.
DeSantis is asking the state government to provide immediate relief for families by suspending the gas tax until such time as prices come back down.
“The average family over a five or six month period, you know, could save up to $200,” the governor said. “There’s a whole bunch of things that go into the price of gas. There’s different taxes, federal, state, local level, we’re taking over 25 cents from Florida and we will basically zero that out for as long as we can and do over a billion dollars. That’s going to make a huge, huge deal.”
DeSantis stated he spoke with state business leaders in the state to ensure that if the tax alleviation passes, there will be lower prices at the pump.
“We talked [to] Racetrack, we talked to Daily’s, Gate, a bunch of them throughout the state of Florida, and they all said yes, absolutely [we will lower prices]. And I think the reason is it makes financial sense for them because they make a lot of money when people come into their store and buy things,” DeSantis said.
He added that state budget surpluses have put Florida in “great financial shape” and told reporters that suspending the gas tax will not hamper state infrastructure spending.

As usual, DeSantis is miles ahead of the disaster streaming out of Washington DC.
“...speaking at a Buc-ee’s gas station and convenience store”
And free Bucky Nuggets for everyone in the store!
That’s how it’s done.
Cut spending, cut taxes, cut regulations. Rinse. Repeat.
Damn, that’s cool! As long as he has “rainy day funds” to pay for the roads, why not? Unfortunately, he’s going to have to do this for a long time, until President Walter is out of office, I’m sorry to say.
From James Bond movie song ...
‘’Nobody does it better
Unbelievable! One has nothing to do with the other. Right, let's put experimental drugs in our kids and gas prices, groceries, and other costs will come down.
There is no longer any doubt in my military mind that this is about tyrannic control.
CLONE HIM.
That and wasting money on passing BBB. They will say anything to advance their cause.
PROTECT HIM AT ALL COSTS!
Well, one out of three at least.
How about a $10 apiece luxury tax on face diapers to make up the difference? And require anyone that requires face diapers on “muh private property” to pay for and supply said face diapers at no charge.
I wish my state had a governor.
I think his 'rainy day fund' is the infrastructure bill that was just passed. Florida gets a sizeable chunk of that.
Mine, up until a few months abo was focused on killing old people and copping free crotch and breast grabs at women.
DeSantis wants to reduce gas by twenty-five cents a gallon and he’s getting some gas station chains to also reduce prices. He said Florida can afford it because we don’t have debt to worry about...
As we’re come to expect, DeSantis is protecting all of us who live here in Florida...
Fuel savings makes Florida look like a wise choice to import cargo. Double benefit. Good job Governor.
Oh come on...The octopus said they moved the line. Which is really an admission that he’s been doing this for a long long time.
Of course everyone knows we’re still exporting...
and the left goes ReeEEeEeeee...
