“This heartbreaking verdict is a miscarriage of justice and sets a dangerous precedent which justifies federal review by DOJ.”
The left’s reaction to Kyle Rittenhouse being acquitted of all charges was predictable and not particularly creative. According to them, he deserves to die, rot in hell, yadda, yadda, yadda.
But one Democrat is taking things further by calling on the Biden DOJ to consider federal charges against Rittenhouse. Rep. Jerry Nadler, who is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, tweeted his call for a federal review just hours after the jury’s verdict was announced.
Many on the left, who so nonchalantly and callously dismiss the damage done to people and property by BLM and Antifa, support Nadler’s call for a federal investigation. It could be argued that Democrats are so accustomed to things going their way that they can’t handle it when they lose.
Nadler would be wise to step away from his emotions over the verdict and think about the repercussions of pushing the narrative that Kyle Rittenhouse was a white supremacist who violated the civil rights of his attackers. The government failed — spectacularly! — in making that case and the Kenosha jury decided what most knew all along: it was simply a case of self-defense.
I’m not really sure what federal crime there is to investigate. I can’t see how they could make a civil rights case or anything like that.
The US Supreme Court really screwed the pooch when they upheld the ridiculous “separate sovereigns” doctrine (Gamble v. United States, 2019), which allows federal and state prosecution of the same offense (double jeopardy). Some foreign countries won’t extradite suspects to the United States if they’ve already been tried once, “separate sovereigns” be damned.
Nadler is a lazy loudmouth who did not spend one second looking over the actual evidence or testimony. He’s just talking out of his a** as usual.
But Merrick Shythead is insane and evil enough to try something. That’s a fact.
Hey Nadler, Constitution Much? Didn’t think so.
America is cleansed from one commie filth.
In a jury trial with competent lawyers, the lies fall apart regardless of the media issuing their own narrative.
Paralyzed now, the collateral damage is extensive to the left.
I am not a lawyer, but would that not constitute “double jeopardy”? (The Double Jeopardy Clause in the Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution prohibits anyone from being prosecuted twice for substantially the same crime.)
Can a Freeper more knowledgeable than I on these matters weigh in?
Did Kyle threaten a school board member?
It is abhorrent that Nadler still consumes earthly oxygen. He is a disgusting piece of subhuman shit.
In 1967, when Polish mercenary Rafal Ganowicz was asked what it felt like to take human life, replied: "I wouldn't know, I've only ever killed communists."
Only Cavuto Republicans didn’t see this one coming.
Nads thinks Kyle violated the three dirtbags’ civil right to kill him.
SPJNK...
Nadler is upset that anyone stood up to the Democrat ground troops. But in so doing, he confirmed that the Antifa goons were and are the armed wing of the ruling elite’s apparat. It will not go well if they push this any further.
Does anybody have a link to Kyle’s defense fund?
🤪🤪🤪🤪😡
Ohhhhhhhhhh, I see what you did! Good one!!
Federal and State laws are different so a distinct Fed charge can be filed without incurring double jeapordy.
