MSNBC host Tiffany Cross this weekend attacked white truckers as aggressive, dangerous drivers who overwhelmingly voted for Trump.

Cross said there’s a lot of racism in the trucking industry because it’s mainly white men over the age of 55.

I have worked on a lot of trucks where the whole family lives in that truck. Not so much anymore because of mechanical inspections, but back in the 80s they would cut a whole in the floor so that they would not have to stop to use the potty. Those we refused to crawl under and work on.

Your description of the average truck driver in this country does not match my observations. While I’ve seen see loamy Hispanics driving big rigs I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of Indian decent, assuming you mean from India and not the domestic variety. Oddly, most of the truckers on the road where I live are east Indian etc. There are very few white European truck drivers. I don’t have a problem with that either.

This site has more detailed statistics. It also shows a much larger number of drivers overall. Perhaps it includes delivery drivers and others not necessarily operating a tractor/trailer rig.

It was kind of a fun time...I remember coming home on leave and driving around with friends who had CB radios in their cars...there was something wonderfully orderly and mysterious at the same time about it.

We had one girl, I had no idea who she was, who had a CB handle that really piqued my interest...it was “Double L”, a play on her initials. For a young man, hearing that disembodied voice issuing from her home CB station, and having never met her (others knew who she was and where she lived, but...driving by the house late at night in a car full of teenagers was the closest I ever got to meeting her.

I felt a bit like Richard Dreyfuss’ character in American Graffiti who was enamoured with Suzanne Somers in her White Thunderbird...:)
