How about Congressional Republican create a situation that let’s them subpoena Ray Epps for a deposition under oath. Two investigators and a recorder can travel to him. Would FBI lawyers and handlers just happen to appear at the deposition location?

He may well be a private contractor. If so his contract would surely stipulate criminal immunity for any actions he takes within the terms of the contract.

In any case he’s a grunt, relatively low value and protected in some legal document one way or another.
