A detective testified on Thursday that a shot was fired into the air seconds before Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager who fatally shot two people during Black Lives Matter protests in Wisconsin last year, fired his weapon.
Kenosha Detective Martin Howard said at Rittenhouse's murder trial that a video showed protester Joshua Ziminski firing the first shot into the air. Defense attorneys argued that this shot made Rittenhouse think he was under attack, according to The Associated Press.
Then-17-year-old Rittenhouse fired shots at an August 2020 protest following the police-involved shooting of a 29-year-old Black man, Jacob Blake.

Good coverage by Atty Andrew Branca. Skip anything that says LIVE:
That’s what I heard on the tape and it sounded to me like two different weapons. Anyone? Bueller?
The man who fired his gun straight up into the air, almost exactly as Rosenbaum lunged at Kyle, was not a random protester.
He was Rosenbaums good friend, and had accompanied him throughout.
Also there is video of Joshua Ziminski firing his gun straight in the air. There is no doubt about it. I don’t know what the motive was
Given the FLOOD of video evidence, it’s incredible that he’s in court at all.
Purest Political Prosecution.
“Given the FLOOD of video evidence, itās incredible that heās in court at all.

As Rush would say, dittos.
Ziminski.
Must be facing criminal charges. Must be.
Maybe. Maybe not.
Pistol.
Fired into the air from the sidewalk while Rittenhouse was being chased into a parking lot.
I am not sure a shot or two fired in the air helps that much. It seems to me that Kyle first shot was reacting to the bad guy chasing him and trying to grab his gun not necessarily the sound of gunfire. I am not a lawyer however.
Iāve been watching it.
Kyle was running away from his attacker. When the gun went off Kyle turned to see where it came from. Thatās when the ālunge for the gunā happened.
Yes, we who have followed this knew this.
I was watching the live video livestream of the actual shooting that night in Kenosha. Another video streamer was following Kyle as he was being chased into the used car parking lot. They should also mention that a group chasing him threw an unlit molotov cocktail bottle at him about the the time the rioter with the pistol fired and than Kyle was jumped by the rioter with a death wish grabbing for his gun. Kyle fired and ran around a car and than got on his phone instantly calling for help. While on the phone others begin to scream, “get him!” before Kyle runs back in the direction he came from towards the gas station where his friends were located. After being attacked by others and shooting to save his life, when he reached the intersection of the gas station he attempted to turn himself in to Police in armored vehicles, they told him to move on. In the end the group he was with which were all adults should never have let Kyle still a teenager go up that street to confront the arsonists on his own.

Duh...
It’s funny how we know all these things in advance.
This is one freaky trial.
The judge’s rulings are ambiguous and weird.
The defense doesn’t object at important points.
The prosecutor’s witnesses act like they’re witnesses for the defense.
The prosecutor cross examines his own witnesses.
The prosecutor played a super secret FBI night vision video and told the jury it showed Kyle chasing a guy, when the actual video showed the guy chasing Kyle.
This plays like a Lewis Carroll production.
Thanks for posting that link. Mr. Branca is a pleasure to listen too.
. The Prosecutor sounds like a blithering idiot.
Makes me wonder what’s going on here. The only thing that comes to mind is that they intend to have this WHOLE trial, and then find him guilty at the end as a way of showing that “If we want you convicted, you’re going to GET convicted, and it doesn’t matter WHAT proof you have.”

Kent State, 1970
“He was Rosenbaums good friend, and had accompanied him throughout.”
So he was an FBI asset then? /s
